What a fabulous hotel this is, set in a tiny beautiful village of Montgomary in Wales .
Expect fantastic uneven wobbly floors which is very much expected re being built in Tudor times, def added to experience. Bed very comfy.
The star of the show is the staff..
Hannah on reception went over and above to help us with poss late arrival re booked dinner, she was a very warm happy reassuring person, def fantastic front of house, she sent us the menu asked to to pre order and would let chef know, she said not to worry and we would be accommodated, such a relief, food was freshly cooked when we got there and the lasagne was rhe best i have tasted .
Sarah in the bar and breakfast was so warm and helpful re our requests different to menu, she asked our names and wished us well..there were other bar staff both lovely but did not get here names..
Such a refreshing change to get a lovely hotel and fantastic staff..
We would def recommend this hotel if looking in this area of Wales
It is perfect for a quiet getaway. Small but interesting town, with tons of good walks to do all around the area. It is worth going for a visit if only to spend several magical hours inside the wonders of the Poetry Pharmacy - but sshhhhh don't tell anybody! Plenty of good eateries - for fab home-made soup, the Bap (if its their birthday when you go, you get free cake!). In the evening the Tuns pub does excellent food - and beer if that is what you are into!

Lovely small town. Steep streets.
Lovely small town. Steep streets. Quiet (at the time we were there, March). Many pubs to choose from.
Not many general shops, but lots of places to buy greetings cards.
We ate at the Ganges restaurant and The Three Tuns pub, both recommended, but best to book. Very limited places to eat on a Sunday evening.

Was there on the Date of the Michaelmas Fair which was cancelled because of the passing of the Queen but there were still stalls and traction engines to see. Pubs and restaurants were open so plenty to do and see.

Stopped for one night but could have stayed longer. The restaurant in the hotel served lovely fresh food. Bishops castle is only a small village but has plenty of history. Look out for the elephants!

A small town I'm ashamed to say I had never heard of, but which offered a variety of interesting shops and tea rooms and other services. A very good base to explore the surrounding hills and even further afield.
A beautiful retreat decorated in a lovely boho style. Entry is through a tiny courtyard and glazed sliding doors. It is comfortable and spacious with a well equipped kitchen, including oven and induction hob. Up the staircase is a large attic bedroom with exposed wood beams, large window, and comfy double bed.
Situated on the edge of Bishops Castle, there is free parking on site and fabulous views across open countryside. Although only 5 minutes walk to the town centre, the town is set on steep hills.
Hotel full of character due to age and history. Cosy room and very comfy bed. Dog was made welcomed and the nice touches of doggy box in room (towel, bowl, poo bags etc) and sausage at breakfast time was really nice. Had a meal in room but dog was okay to eat in bar area and that was very tasty. Staff very friendly and polite. Breakfast had a lot of options and nice touch on table with message of the day giving weather report, good walks in area and places of interest to visit. Really nice gardens.
The location of this hotel is exceptional. The hotel is bijou but extremely comfortable and very well done. The staff were fantastic. One of us was unwell on the morning of checking out and we were met with such flexibility and kindness from the Manager and the staff and all ended very well. The food is exceptionally good, using local produce as far as possible.
Lovely B&B. Good size rooms, great breakfast and nice hosts. Room was well equipped and bed comfy. The town is great, small quirky, a few good pubs, an Indian and several cafes. Great area lots to do locally especially if you like walking or visiting local history. The town is very arty / music oriented, lots of love music in evenings. Definitely would come again.
This is a nicely decorated cottage - it has all facilities eg washing machines, dish washer, internet, multi channel TV. It is dog friendly. It is a quiet hamlet with farms close by, local church, easy to get to Bishops Castle and Craven Arms for shops pub’s restaurants. The owners are very pleasant and leave you to your own devices.
Gerry was an excellent hostess, thoughtful, generous and kind and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was welcoming and the accommodation and facilities were very good. Breakfast was excellent and substantial, we did not eat again until late evening. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at this hotel.
The breakfast was delicious and nothing was too much trouble. There was plenty to choose from including fresh fruit, full cooked breakfast and homemade marmalade and jams. There was homemade cake upon arrival and shortbread which was so tasty and just what we needed following our journey.
Lovely detached bungalow, spotlessly clean , in quiet street 10 minutes walk to small historic town of Bishops Castle. Handy for the several pubs/hotels. Neighbor next door was owner and he called in to see us and brought a bottle of wine. Lovely views too from the garden.
Breakfast not included. Good location on the high street. Parking just around the corner. A good base if you are on a family holiday I would have thought. Bishops Castle was very pleasant, especially the gardens up at the back of the Castle Hotel.
The novelty of having an entire pub to yourself makes this an unforgettable gateway. Spacious, well equipped yet homely. Dishwashers, ice machines, pool table, karaoke, hot tub….. they’ve thought of it all. Highly recommended! AND dog friendly!
A lovely bed and breakfast run by lovely people. Warm and cosy, blissfully quiet, fantastic breakfast, and the whole family are so friendly. Bishops Castle is a delightful town and I can't wait to come back and explore it again.
Friendly, cozy ,good location,,easy parking, good bar and menue.great outdoor area with good views..

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage close to the centre of Bishops Castle and with walks from the door. Good sized garden with garden furniture. Beautifully furnished.
