It was a nice hotel with a restaurant and a well stocked whiskey bar. Staff were friendly, helpful and worked very hard. Seemed like each person had multiple jobs from tending bar to serving your food and checking you in. Easy off-street parking. Our junior suite was nice and comfortable.

Whisky Capital Inn, hotel in Craigellachie

Featuring a bar and free WiFi, Whisky Capital Inn is located in Dufftown, 14 miles from Huntly Castle and 18 miles from Elgin Cathedral.

This is was the best experience for my husband, myself, and our little 2 year old. The facility was full of character and Scottish charm. Our room was very comfortable and more spacious than we expected. It was exceptionally clean too! The staff were so welcoming and always available if we needed anything. We ate a late lunch in the pub and then had the free breakfast that was included in our stay. Both meals were amazing, but we were really impressed with the hot and made to order breakfast they provided for us. You absolutely cannot beat the experience you get for such a reasonable cost. You won’t be disappointed if you stay here!

First of all, Theresa, she was so perfect about treating us. We felt like we are friends and family rather than visitors. The room and the bathroom was beyond clean. :) We fell in love with the details, from the complementary capsule coffees to the usb and electric outlets installed on the nightstand. Breakfast was delicious and fresh.

    Craigallachie itself is very small.

Craigallachie itself is very small. If you are out and about in the car it is perfect for you. The Highlander Inn was a great place to eat. Aberlour just 2 miles away was in walking distance and the walk along the river was nice. You had to walk along the main road to get to the path though. The cottage is just off the main road but it is quite peaceful. You don`t hear the traffic inside really. Unfortunately we didn`t get to many tourist places as they were still closed.

Close to lots of things to do indoors and out. Enjoyed the trip even though most of the distilleries were closed. Had a great visit to the cooperage and lots of walks which were accessible and manageable by us.

    Very relaxed and relaxing.

Very relaxed and relaxing. Friendly laid back staff, no fuss about checkin or checkout times, or about dogs being a bit boisterous. The restaurant is informal, in a bar setting, and the food was good standard. Lovely walks nearby, just right for a short winter break with roaring log fire and a cosy whisky bar.

A relaxing stay but we did have to eat in more than anticipated as it was difficult to get booked in to any of the local restaurants/pubs. We managed to get booked in to the Copper Dog on our last night and really enjoyed it.

I loved the whole character of the place, I was greeted with a very warm welcome from the owners. The room was exceptional and tastefully laid out. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever tasted. Most of all being a lone female traveller I judge a hotel by how safe I feel and this was one of the most relaxed and comfortable places I have ever been in. I can't wait to return.

Really quiet hotel - much further back from the road than other Aberlour / Rothes hotels. Great food too, breakfast and also the 'light bite' platters were of a really high standard, with super service.
