Lovely little cottage. Very comfortable bed. Very clean. Loved the bathroom. Would definitely go back again. Highly recommended
This small, friendly hotel is in rural Leiston, close to the coast at Aldburgh and Sizewell. The rooms are en suite and main bar shows satellite channels.

My recommendation is to stay at the White Horse Inn, in Leiston, which didn't come up when I searched, maybe because they have a charge for dogs. I walked there from where I'd booked (1mile from Butcher's Arms, Knodishall). Next time I visit Sizewell beach, I will stay at the White Horse. Didn't get a chance to look around Leiston itself this time.

We knew Leiston of old.
We knew Leiston of old. This is not an upmarket tourist town, but its location for Minsmere (and ineed much of Suffolk - Blythburgh, Southwold, Saxmundham, Framlingham, Aldeburgh, Snape etc. - is excellent.
And all the people we met were great.

Leiston is well located for visiting other places nearby such as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Southwold and Sizewell but is not a particularly attractve in its own right. Plenty of local fast food places to eat but you have to move a little ot of the town for bit more variety. Great location for visiting the Suffolk coast and far more down to earth, friendly, less snobby and definitely cheaper than its near neighbours.

Formerly an industrial town, though in the midst of an agricultural area and only a few miles from the coast, Aldburgh, Snape Maltings Concert Hall, Minsmere RSPB reserve. Town centre has a very interesting industrial museum, but is otherwise uninspiring and surrounded by modern housing developments. A good choice if you want to avoid the crowds on the coast.

Leiston has a good range of shops but seemingly no decent pubs or restaurants. However, it is within driving distance of these. It is conveniently situated for Aldeburgh (where accommodation is expensive) so worth considering for a stay.
The owners of the property were very helpful and the breakfast was fantastic. The room was exceptionally clean, private, and located in a friendly area. I now know why they have such great reviews. I used to manage hotels and noticed they had everything perfectly set up, right down to the little details (biscuits, lovely decor, tea facilities, lap trays, cold milk, coat hangers). Couldn't have been better and can highly recommend this as a lovely place to stay for a getaway!
Website says breakfast not included but actually there was a generous offering of cereals, milk, tea. Kitchen well equipped if you wanted to prepare your own food.
Parking easy.
Leiston itself is pleasant tho' not exciting - apart from charming Abbey ruins. But it is a perfect centre for visiting Sutton Hoo, Orford, beaches, Aldeburgh etc.
The décor of the hotel and bar itself was lovely. The staff were amazing and extremely helpful, the manager himself moved his car to give me a spot. They were keen to serve us at the bar and the food from the modest yet sophisticated menu was delicious.

the whole place was charming - quaint, lovely flowers in the garden. Good location. Leiston Abbey is wonderful as is Aldeburgh a favourite, Minnsmere is close - Orford is great too
Very convenient for visiting friends in nearby Leiston. Quiet location away from the pub itself. A novel approach to Bed and Breakfast by providing Hobbit Pods.
