Very personable and friendly team.
Long distance drive meant that I would be arriving late. Not a problem for the Wheatsheaf Inn, I received a phone call half-way through my journey to see how I was getting on.
Rooms very clean, I had a great night sleep, bed was very comfy.
The breakfast was 10/10 with lots of choices outside of your standard cooked breakfast.

For me perfect half-way house from Falkirk to Newcastle in extremely poor weather conditions - big freeze/snow - enabling me to break my journey and leave late afternoon on Saturday and not have to leave too early in the morning on Sunday when roads more likely to have been gritted etc in order to meet due arrival time. Perfect for 2 route options - A68/A697 then to Morpeth or A1 depending on road conditions. Quick easy route to join A1 either way if more snow as being coastal and busier more likely to have been cleared.

There was nothing we disliked; yes, first time I stayed in a B & B with no cooked breakfast but that wasn’t a big issue for us. There were plenty of
F fresh fruits, boiled eggs and bread, toaster etc.
I would happily stay there again. We had the whole downstairs and front garden to ourselves.
Friendly, helpful lady who was very happy to recommend and make reservations for eve meals. Nice little village, we walked to eve meals which was quite exciting walking from England to Scotland for dinner!
From the property description I got the impression that the river was very close to the property but that wasn’t the case. No big deal as we saw it and crossed it when going out in the eve for food.

Cornhill on Tweed is a short distance outside Coldstream.
Cornhill on Tweed is a short distance outside Coldstream. Its a very nice village with a beautiful church, well run village shop with cafe and a hotel. The hotel is pleasant with good food but the menu is expensive compared to normal bar food prices. Lovely quite roads for exploring on bike and many footpaths for walking. The wonderful Northumbria coast is only 30 minutes away by car. A lovely village in the wonderful Borders.

We stayed to visit family, Cornhill gives an ideal base to visit areas of Northumberland and into Scotland.
The village has a wonderfully stocked local shop and post office right next door to the hotel where we stayed. (Collingwood Arms Hotel).
Dinner at the Collingwood Arms was delicious, definitely worth a visit.

A beautiful part of England, with a an inquisitive eye peeping in the souls of our favorite neighbors across the River Tweed's inevitable desire to stay strong in a sympathetic misunderstood message of hope.

The staff were great. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming.
We had an excellent meal on Friday night and a superb breakfast on Saturday.
Breakfast was cooked to order, and possibly one of the nicest hotel breakfasts we've had.
The Inn is charming, with comfortable rooms and a relaxing atmosphere.
There is plenty of parking too.
The only issue was with slightly dusty bedroom floor (dark tiles), but this was mentioned to the manager and taken care of.
We were greeted by Mr Clarke Manager who was charming, very helpful and very welcoming , regrettable the following day was his day off, the replacement day manager was rude, with little or no charm which spoilt our stay and we wondered if we would return. The hotel staff were very good but there was an bad atmosphere under this day manager, not Mr Clarke.
Good location for visiting Northumberland and Borders just a mile from Scotland. Stylish hotel with two lovely reception rooms with roaring fires in both rooms. Really made you feel at home. The room was lovely, clean and spacious. Breakfast of high quality with good choice.
Lovely location, all the charm and character of an English country hotel. Had dinner which was very nice, which you would expect for the price Staff were friendly and accommodating. The bedroom was scrupulously clean and super king sized bed was very comfortable
Quiet location overlooking a small lake sand had decking area with hot tub . Bijou lodge but more than adequate with great facilities including outside Barbecue
Close to both Cornhill-On-Tweed and Coldstream
The location of the hotel was perfect for our bike road trip, the food was exceptional and staff very accommodating. The room was clean and beds very comfortable… would stay afsin
