The massive room was a real treat. I stayed in the older motel, but even though it was old, it was in great shape and the rooms super quiet.

Love this place so much. One of the best accommodations in the south we have stayed so far. The place was clean, kitchen with pots n pans, there is an oven n microwave too. Love everything about the house. A fridge, not the mini kind. Adorable laundry room. Everything is simple and clean.

Unfortunately the visitors centre was closed in 2020, so there was no information about what to see and how to achieve this. We were recommended to visit Stewart Island, apparently being the main attraction. You needed to book online but there was no information
about the trip. At a cost of $200 each, rather expensive. Drove to Bluff to find out for ourselves, 30 kms but even less information. Very disappointing. Not much in the way of restaurants unless you are in to Asian food. One shopping centre, not much in it.

Nice flat walking, the new mall has all the usual shops plus some additional surprises. Shopping is great, streets very clean, Queens Park is lovely and well cared for and there is a lot of city centre development going on with improvements for locals and visitors alike. Amigos restaurant if you like chili and Mexican food is worth a try.

Great city on the up.
Great city on the up. Good selection of eateries and things to do and see. Most attractions are fairly close to the centre, and the airport is 5 minutes from there. I can happily recommend Invercargill for a visit.

Invercargill has a lot to offer. Queen's Park is a must-see. Aside from the beautiful gardens, there are nice bird aviaries and farmyard animals. It's a great place for families with a nice playground and cafe. Bill Richardson Transport World is a highlight, along with Oreti Beach which Bert Munro used as a race track. Hubber's Emporium and E Hayes are fantastic shops with many interesting things to see. There is a nice new mall and we found some good places to eat

This is a clean city with no obvious homelessness problem.
This is a clean city with no obvious homelessness problem. It is well provided with facilities and retail outlets. Some of the shops like Hubber's Emporium are just fascinating. The people are friendly. It is close to Bluff and marvelous beaches. I've heard it's not so good on a rainy day, but I wouldn't know. I would love to live in Invercargill but I feel they don't need more "northies" to come and push property values up. I will remain a grateful tourist.
The Villa Rouge is in a beautiful old house in a quiet neiborhood in Invercargill. Our room was very comfortable. The house is extensively decorated with beautiful artwork. The hosts are delightful. We would stay there again and recommend it to others. We used this as a staging stop for taking the ferry to Stewart Isalnd. Invergargill is a relatively large city with many services. We stumbled on an excellent breakfast in the motercycle museum downtown.
Exceptional accomodation for a family of 4! We were pleasantly surprised by the high-quality premises (eg swipe card access, push-button light switches, full aircon, USB plugs etc.). We were impressed by the additional freebies such as the packets of toast, jam, butter; nescafe capsules (and machine); orange juice; chocolates. This is a luxury accomodation worthy of any location in NZ!
A secret gem just outside of Invercargill town. This property is just amazing on many levels. The indoor and outdoor space, the furnishings, and very clean. The spa on a cold day was a very welcomed treat. Hosts were very accommodating. Room was warm upon arrival. Highly recommended and will stay again if we visit Invercargill.
Arriving into Invercargill from Mount Cook The Langlands Hotel was perfectly easy to locate. Upon arrival I was greeted with valet parking and concierge service, neither expected but greatly appreciated. The view of Invercargill from the room at night was simply stunning.
Loved the warm welcome we received remotely, as we were checking in after hours. The unit was spotless and very well equipped! Love that there was recycling (something I find lacking in NZ hotels) and that the laundry facilities were free of charge.
Friendly and welcoming greeting on arrival, very clean, comfortable bed and pillows and a warm and inviting room. Minutes away from shops and restaurants. Would recommed to my family and friends staying in Invercargill.
The hotel was lovely, with inhouse restaurant and bar/pokies facility it had everything you need. The room was gorgeous, we had a king suite which had a spa-bath in the room, it was well beyond our expectations.
Budget friendly apartments everything you need the apartment was spotless undercover parking in the one bed apartment bed was very comfortable and it was only a short walk into town the owner was very friendly
Quirky, super-comfortable and clean. Lots of attention to detail and good communication prior to arrival to ensure an easy check-in after hours. It stands out as one of the best motels we have stayed in.
Location was excellent as it allowed easy access to everything we wanted to do in a quieter location than some of the motels in Invercargill. Also it was very comfortable accommodation.
Lovely clean and friendly place, Tracy at the front desk was so helpful and knowledgeable and gave us heaps of tips about Invercargill. Even had laundry facilities to use!
Spacious living and kitchen area and have two good size bedrooms. The reception lady provided a good introduction of Invercargill and bluff and gave us maps.
