All is 10/10! The spa, swimming pool, massage, and food are absolutely perfect! There are plenty of shops near the hotel and lots of activities to enjoy. The resort is set in a pretty gorge with a rushing stream well outside of Mayhofen. It is possible to get there by bus from the Zillertal, but much easier if you have a car. The building itself is beautiful and the spa/sauna facilities are excellent. The meals were very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. There are a few nice hiking and bicycling options nearby, but many more if you go down to the valley. They have a couple of electric vehicle chargers (extra cost) in the garage, which was very useful for me.

    The perfect Zillertal base — charming, active, and full of alpine character. Mayrhofen is a gem in the heart of the Zillertal Alps — both lively and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. My favorite spot in town was the central square with the iconic ibex statue and the beautiful alpine church, perfect for soaking in the mountain vibe. I enjoyed traditional Tyrolean meals at local guesthouses, and the hut-style restaurants in the surrounding mountains are worth the hike. Breakfast at my hotel was exceptional, and the Zillertal beer is a must-try after a long day outdoors. Getting around is easy — everything in town is walkable, and the Zillertalbahn train makes exploring the valley simple. For solo travelers like me, Mayrhofen is ideal: scenic hiking trails start right from town, there’s an excellent pool & spa complex (Erlebnisbad), and plenty of cafés and beer gardens to meet people or just relax. Whether you’re here for a few days or as a base for adventures like the Berliner Höhenweg, Mayrhofen delivers both comfort and authentic alpine atmosphere.

    I've been to Mayrhofen many times over the years.

    I've been to Mayrhofen many times over the years. On top of the magnificent views and mountains, I always recommend it particularly on the size of the town. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and hotels in the centre, which give plenty of options if you ever should get a bad weather day. If you are there for a few days, the Active Card is well worth getting. It includes all lifts, train and buses in the valley, so you can get about easily, trying other towns in the valley, without thinking of additional cost.

    The ski area has a good range of slopes for novice/intermediates. If you are a total beginner there are better areas to start your skiing adventures. The best slopes in our opinion are a few runs and ski lifts away from the ascent via the Penkenbahn but are so worth it. Ahorn is good for an easy accessible confidence boost run or 2 and has some fun areas for the children. Hintertux glacier is a good day out and free bus available but can be super busy. We flew in to Innsbruck and then took the train to Mayrhofen for the first time and it was super easy and good value.

    This was my 3rd visit to Mayrhofen over the last 20 years...

    This was my 3rd visit to Mayrhofen over the last 20 years and it has grown and the lift access has improved vastly. Had a very relaxing holiday and there are plenty shops and cafes/restaurants to choose from in the evening. There is a Deli across from the Penkan lift that does the most delicious smoked ham sandwich, you know it is good when you see the lines of people there in the evening.

    I've been coming to Mayrhofen for 40 years, both summer and winter. Winter, as much for walking as I have for ski-ing. I've tried other Austrian towns over the years, but this place just hits the spot for a holiday. The town is deceptively large, enabling you to find places to go on a rainy day, but still retains that cosy feel with excellent coffee stops and restaurants. Excellent linked public transport, which allows many adventures. I still haven't travelled along all the side valleys. Views from the top, are simply stunning.

    absolutely great location, ski bus next to hotel and mayerhofen center with shops cafes and restaurant just 15 minutes walk. apartment 210 was excellent, one of the nicest we ever had, perfect for 2-3 people, very well equipped. apartament 320 was a bit worse as had no proper sitting / living space, just a table in the corridor. still overall impression was good, especially for location. also sauna was available, but it was in the other building, ca 300 m away.

    The hotel is very close to the center and to the gondolas. The receptionist is very polite and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. Cleaning is top. Breakfast is of good quality,not enormous but everything you ll need. Saunas are modern and there is a nice relaxation space. There are safe rooms to store ski equipment.

    Great location. Very close to town (restaurant, bars, ski rental etc). Ski bus right outside hotel and store room for ski gear. Very very clean and staff always friendly and helpful.     Martin (Owner) was extremely nice and helpful with all the relevant information and he made us feel really welcome. The apartment is fully stocked and very clean - looks new. The hotel has a very nice ski room. (we didn't use since we rented the equipment on site).
