Innisfail, well worth a visit, Wouldn’t stay in a cabin again at Flying Fish Point, own Caravan a big yes. A beautiful little Deli in the Main Street of Innisfail. Lovely people and food delicious. I booked three cabins for my family.
I booked three cabins for my family. Cabin 24's cooktop did not even work so I had to cook in my cabin. And the toilet bowl was dirty and stained and their was no toiletries provided (soap, shampoo, conditioner or body wash). Cabin 42 was just passable with the only complaint was the blankets smelt of urine. Cabin 1 was a bit modern but found that the bed linen and the mattress protector had stain spots and the florescent light in the lounge area did not work. A busy Sugar Plantation town on the Bruce Hwy A1 National Hwy, on a wide slow flowing river. Was formerly a prosperous town, this is evident by the Art Deco style Banks, Courthouse, Library and former dance Halls in the beautiful town on the Johnstone River. Could have stayed longer, country folk have time and are very friendly to all travellers who enter their patch.

The swimming enclosed area at Etty Bay great, Finding your way around town not good for a small town, Design of town rather silly No free tennis courts, Needs a cafe similar to Majestic Cafe in Ingham, Great little town mostly. Nice to walk the streets and see the Art Deco style from an adult’s view. I never appreciated it as a child when I came with my Dad on business trips. Popped into the Chinese temple. Lots of great gift shops to start buying Christmas gifts. A coffee opposite a Fitzgerald Esplanade was also lovely after reading all the historical info along the river edge. Etty Bay was great for lunch. And to see a Cassowary.
