Staying with Sue and Patrick is a unique experience. The birds and musky rat kangaroos that they have rescued are a treat to see up close. The cottage has impressive African decor from their travels. That, combined with the tropical landscape makes you feel like you’re in an exotic location. We brought our own food to make dinner and the kitchen was more than adequate to prepare a nice dinner. We wished we could have stayed longer than one night.
Honeybee House is located less than 10 minutes' drive from the center of Kuranda Village. Guests enjoy free WiFi. The house is set on 5 acres of tropical gardens and rainforest.

The house was easy to find using Google Maps. In a quiet, safe area with wildlife around such as catbirds and cute little wallabies (not tame). Well appointed home with some extras in the kitchen like salt/pepper, some sauces and cling wrap. Beds were comfy. Great temps inside and out during our stay. Good useable kitchen. Toilet in one room and shower and sink in another was very practical. We enjoyed our stime there. It was very relaxing. Kuranda and the Tablelands were fun to explore from this base.

The location in the middle of the rainforest is amazing and Majella is the loveliest host! Since we were travelling without a car, she kindly offered to pick us up and take us into the village.

An absolutely beautiful location for a relaxing outdoor weekend. Arriving at Kur-Cow you will meet very friendly and attentive staff. We took a walk around the petting the farm and fed the ponies, goats and al pacas before checking into our cabin. The cabin has everything you need for a stay in the forest, with wifi, a communal kitchen and a campfire right outside. Surrounded by horses, cows and wild animals, we watched an amazing sunset before lighting our fire. The next day we woke and took an atv tour out into the seemingly endless rainforest. Emma was an amazing tour guide and she really finished off a brilliant weekend!

I loved the place i stayed in. Trying to find a place to eat in town after the last train is gone is very hard. Only Tropical Zen is open (they have a very limited menu), all restaurants and cafes shut around 3-4 pm unless you want fish and chips..
From where i was staying it was a short drive into town.
I walked from the Skyrail station to the Barron Fals which is a beautiful walk and doesnt take as long as the sign says. It does have a lot of steps tho. I definitely recommend the walk.

We really enjoyed Kuranda and its surroundings.
We really enjoyed Kuranda and its surroundings. It's a quirky place and a haven for its (touristic) shopping. There are also many coffee shops and small restaurants for an excellent lunch. And of course, its surrounding nature, i.e. the rainforest with its lookouts, waterfall, etc..

Loved the location, close to Kuranda.
Loved the location, close to Kuranda. The farm stay has horses, sheep, goats and lots of other animals wondering around the farm which was lovely.
Very basic cabins. More like camping but clean and fine. No indoor area so need the weather to be nice.
The first day one of the owners let the kids feed the animals which they loved. A highlight.
The second day when I asked the other owner who wasn’t friendly at all if we could feed the animals, she said no not today. We were only there for 2 days so it was disappointing. We were the only ones there too so didn’t understand why. It felt unnecessary.

Kuranda is an Artisan village with many attractions for people to enjoy. There is a large Foodworks and hotel/bottlo facilities as well as plenty of accommodation of all types. Lots of cafes and restaurants as well. The markets are world renowned and have many items not seen elsewhere. The people are friendly and informative and the surroundings are beautiful. Cairns is also easily accessible, only half an hour away. The skyway was closed due to Covid restrictions although the scenic railway was operating :)

Kuranda is such a quaint tropical town, lots of shopping and opportunities to experience nature. We visited bird world and I could have stayed there all day! We did some light shopping and found some wonderful items that were handmade, unique and didn't break the bank.

Kuranda is a very tourist driven place, that operates basically from morning until 3pm when tourists visit. It is more though. It is beautifully situated in the mountains, cool, refreshing and offering more than just a day visit. We took our time and enjoyed the experience. I am not sure what the locals do at night, a couple of eateries open at night would have been great.
Patrick and Sue are AMAZING hosts! They were very attentive and helpful. We had some great chats together with their birds (Zsa Zsa, Coco, Bubbles and Fritz!) The property and accommodations are beautiful with a nice breeze and rain falling. It was the best place to unwind. This is THE place to stay in Kuranda ❤️
The location is something very special!! The rainforest setting is so peaceful. The studio is so beautifully set up with a super comfortable bed, great stylish kitchen, bathroom and table overlooking the forest. And Kuranda is a town full of wonderful delightful surprises!
Location is excellent as situated in the rainforest and close to Kuranda, Barron Falls and walks.
Apartment was superb, spacious and had stunning views.
Kitchen had all we needed.
Private bush stay, felt I was really remote yet close to Kuranda. Self contained and very cosy. Best place for a sunset. Can watch the stars all night from your bed, very romantic.
Lovely location, close to Kuranda but also deep in the ancient rainforest, with a lovely garden and shaded terrace. Very quiet, with a friendly hostess. A lovely place to stay.
