Port Douglas is a beautiful sleepy coastal town that is spotlessly clean, tropical, and well-positioned to visit the reef and other attractions in the area. We could have stayed a week just kicking back and relaxing in this beautiful town, enjoying many cafes, bars, and pubs. I'd highly recommend visiting this beautiful part of Queensland.

A quaint and picturesque town, with an abundance of live music, good restaurants and coffee shops. The walk over Flagstaff Hill is tough in places but well worth the effort. Plenty to do, or just as easily relax.

    The seafood restuarants are magnificent.

The seafood restuarants are magnificent. Excellent food at very affordable prices. This place is alike a miniature Noosa or a micro Gold Coast without all the hype and commerciality. A great place to bring a family - relax as well as a have a great time with lots to see and do. Don't miss the Sunday morning markets in the park - very worth a visit with local and aboriginal artists selling their orginal work (nothing made in China here).

I did not expect this hotel to look so amazing… from the foyer all the way down to the pool my family and I joist walked with mouths wide open. Absolutely fantastic setting. Everything is clean and spotless. We live up here and we don’t know how they keep it so clean. This is the first time in 6 years of traveling with kids that my husband doesn’t wake up with a back pain. The bed was amazing. It’s great to see a far north property being taken care so well. It exceeded all our expectations and made my husband’s 40th birthday PERFECT

Hotel staff was super friendly and helpful, giving us loads of options for restaurants and tours to book in advance. This hotel provides everything anyone could possibly need to enjoy a beach vacation, and more! Free coolers, beach chairs, beach towels, games, toys, even bikes! Room was one of the cleanest we've ever stayed, and the bed was very comfortable. Amenities were thoughtfully provided and linens were great. Location was perfect - easy walk to lots of shops and restaurants, very close to the beach.

The owners were friendly and welcoming on arrival and provided me with lots of information about the town and details I would need to get around. They couldn’t do enough through the stay whenever I had a question. I was travelling for work so they thoughtfully arranged accommodation on the quieter side of the hotel, away from the pool. The pool was actually beautiful - a little tropical oasis! There is a barbecue area and lots of places to relax in the shade with a book between dips.

Location Location Location AND it was a well designed and maintained property. The apartment was full of thoughtful details which made stay very comfortable. The host, Ken, was very warm and helpful. There is filtered water available and a relaxing seating area outside near reception. Lovely pool area. A very short one blick walk to Four Mile Beach and just a few feet from a restaurant. Highly recommend for an adult stay in Port Douglas.

Hannah on reception went above and beyond to make sure we had access to a suitable room for our needs. Gardens are pretty. Thanks Oaks. Thanks Hannah! Room was clean - no mouldy carpet issues have stayed some years ago and this hotel does not seem to have this issue as other places sometimes do in tropical Cairns. Bed was super comfy and the breakfast buffet is good value.

This was the perfect place to stay in Port Douglas. Our apartment was bright, spacious and airy and looked out over palm trees with an easy walk to the beach or the town centre. The interiors are gorgeously retro without being kitsch. We loved our stay at Retro Apartments, and would stay here again in a heartbeat before any of the bigger resorts in Port Douglas.

Great location in the heart of Macrossan st amongst all the cafe's, bars and retail shops. Our room was on the ground floor and was nice, quiet with a private balcony. Appartment was a good size for the 2 of us, modern and comfortable. I definately would stay here again next time we are here in Port Douglas.

Could not have asked for a more perfect place to host our friends for our Elopement in Port Douglas. This place was FANTASTIC. Great location, great facilities, a little slice of luxury in Port. Would not hesitate to book this place again and would highly recommend this over ANY of the hotels in PD.

I booked a small room (studio apartment). My mistake but the manager was very helpful and when a larger apartment became available we were able to move into it. The apartments are on Port Douglas' main street. It was easy for us to access all we wanted on foot. Our kind of place.

The apartment has the potential to be a great little holiday house in a great location on 4 mile beach. Nicely furnished with a really nice layout. We had a car so getting into port Douglas was no problem. Kitchen was well equipped. Owner was contactable. Stunning large bathroom.
