Oatlands
Built in 1837, Robinson Cottage is located in the center of Oatlands and offers modern accommodations set in historic surrounds. All accommodations is refurbished and offers a flat-screen TV. My 3x great grandmother was married to the man who built Robinson Cottage in 1837 so it was a delight to stay in a cottage that my family potentially lived in or visited! The cottage was delightful, with brand new kitchen and bathrooms and a comfy lounge room. We appreciated the period furniture and paintings to give it a historic feel, whilst still having all the mod cons!

Oatlands is a gorgeous little town, full of character, textured and varied. You really need to take a little time to get to know it and discover all its gems, some out in the open, some a little more hidden. I visited for the first time in December last year, spent a little longer this time and thus had the opportunity to savour it a bit more. Sublime, beautiful, this is a really special town, I still haven't done everything and I look forward to visiting again.
A beautifully maintained historic village with a large number of buildings classified by the National Trust. Most buildings are in the local sandstone and are maintained and presented in excellent condition. There are many boards on buildings with a brief history of year built, original owner and initial use. A very well presented historic village.
I liked the fact that I could prefer a real meal for the whole family to enjoy as the kitchen has all you need for cooking. The pantry has every little things that you need. All i have to buy is my main ingredients.
We stayed at Oatlands as it was the last night before we flew out of Hobart airport; there is only an hour's drive from Oatlands to the airport. We didn't want to stay in Hobart again, and it meant we were able to spend our last few days travelling down the Heritage Highway. We recommend seeing Oatlands, but in retrospect would choose Ross or Richmond to stay overnight.
Oatlands is a small historic town with some beautiful old buildings built in the 1800s. It has a few cafes that looked inviting but unfortunately were closed when we arrived. The stone mill is worth walking to as is the old church and manse. A quiet town that provided a welcome relaxed start to our holiday.
We stopped by the Feisty Hen Pantry for lunch as our first port of call not knowing what to expect. We got a welcome surprise when we were served the most amazing cheese platter and the best scones either of us had ever had for an incredibly reasonable price. Cannot recommend highly enough. The next surprise came when we discovered that we'd booked the most delightful accommodation at The Elm Cottage barn. Five star experience is an understatement.
Oatlands
The accommodation was really comfortable, lovely and warm and very practical. The kitchen table was a good size for a mix of work and playing a large complex board game. There was everything we needed, and right next door was the fabulous Imbibers where we had wonderful food and drinks before returning to the cottage for the rest of the evening. Oatlands is a very interesting town, with lots of historical interest and soon an impressive gin distillery. We will definitely be back.
Oatlands
The barn is wonderfully decorated and has everything you could possibly want. The decor is inspiring and well thought out. The garden is your own little piece of paradise right out the door. Ample supplies of delicious food for breakfast, and environmentally friendly bathroom products are also supplied. The owner, Rhonda, is a gem of a person with a great store next door worthy of some of your time. Oatlands is a delightful little town with great shops too.
Oatlands
The location is fantastic for Oatlands attractions. We went for lovely morning and afternoon walks and everyone we met was very friendly. The accommodation was perfect to come back to with a well stocked kitchen and IGA a few minutes down the road for supplies. Beds were very comfortable. Would recommend!!
