A really great experience, highly recommended! Owners are lovely and very caring and kind, and great to talk to. The place is amazing and in a decent position to the rest of the island which helps for getting around. It has a gorgeous view overlooking the lagoon, beautiful wooden and natural theme inside the main lobby lounge area and very calming and peaceful atmosphere. The rooms are great and have what you need, and for the price this is an absolute bargain and excellent quality.

Millpond’s location in a quiet street in Penneshaw just minutes from the ferry terminal was our pick. It met our requirements for a quiet holiday by the sea. The hosts - always responsive - evidently took pains to anticipate the needs of guests - we didn’t lack for anything, from the very well-equipped kitchen to comfortable living, dining rooms and bedrooms. Stay here if you’re looking to recharge and refresh.

Penneshaw has a beautiful coastal country vibe.

Penneshaw has a beautiful coastal country vibe. Everyone is polite and wonderful to talk too.the beaches are gorgeous and walking around is so much fun, discovering all there is to know about this wonderful magical place. Some other destinations are a little drive but the scenery is amazing, and there is so much to see and do. We visited Kingscote, Seal Bay, the wildlife sanctuary, American river and many more places. Our favourite place to eat was the Penneahaw local pub. Their meals were awesome and the staff were very accommodating.

Penneshaw is a great starting point when arriving at Kangaroo Island via ferry in the afternoon. The short coast walk at the township, or at the ten beach are both beautiful, and the local pub is also worth a visit.

Penneshaw was easy access from Sealink so we made that our base and travelled each day to various locations. We drove to Kingscote but there didn't appear to be anything open, so whether it was because of the time of year. Glad we chose Penneshaw. Not able to comment on the other places as we were limited in time to visit.

Penneshaw was great.

Penneshaw was great. Quiet and close to ferry and food options. When you get off the ferry you think there is not much here but look around the side streets and you find many options. It is only half an hour to Kingscote and to the main tourist loop. We had kangaroos at our door each morning and the view of the water and ferry going up and down was lovely.

Penneshaw has a beautiful safe beach, skate park and playground plus hikes for the more adventurous. There is a small supermarket for anything you may need to be self sufficient. Otherwise there are 2 hotels and 2 cafes, all providing eat-in or take-away food as well as a take-away food shop. We were there in January.

Seashells Penneshaw was very clean and comfortably spacious for our family of five. It is located close to a beautiful beach, close to the meeting place for our planned excursions and within walking distance to cafes and restaurants. We had an allocated carport space to park our rental car and we enjoyed many walks on the beach that had breath-taking views. It is also located close to where the ferry travels to and from Adelaide. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was perfect for our family.

The location and outlook of the property were superb. The kitchen and laundry were well stocked with everything we could possibly need. The beds were comfortable, Netflix was available and there were various board games, DVDs and reading material to keep you occupied. The KI Sculpture Trail is at the end of the street as is Frenchman’s Stone. The Penneshaw Penguin Centre is less than a 5 minute walk away. I cannot speak highly enough of this place. We were sorry to leave.

Nice location in Penneshaw, near the ferry and close walking distance to cafes and shops. The fancy “glamping” cabin had its own bathroom, small kitchenette and outdoor area. Very comfortable bed. Has laundry facilities if you just came from camping. Staff are very friendly.
