We had a wonderful overnight stay in Stanthorpe. Plan ahead as there is plenty to see and do. Great food too. Stay at the wonderful Granite Belt Motel - friendly host and impeccably clean.Highly recommend
Stanthorpe is a wonderful place for a getaway. In our 5 night stay, we visited wineries, food outlets, went for walks in the national park and along the creek in town, loved the shopping at local shops and were throroughly impressed by many local businesses. Top picks - wine tasting and a picnic lunch at Ridgemill Estate; amazing pizzas at Balancing Heart winery; the beautiful displays and products at Washpool Soaps; the tasting experience at the Truffle Discovery Centre; talking to the inspiring young owner of Jamworks; walking in the natural beauty of Girraween National Park; and wine tasting and an absolutely delicious lunch at the Queensland College of Wine Tourism. So many attractions within an easy drive of Stanthorpe.
Excellent as a base for exploring the Granite Belt. Easy drives to Girraween area, Wallangarra, and fruit growing areas. Plenty of places to eat. Great area for wine tasting if you want to. Countryside is just spectacular. Good for using up lots of energy, if you are able to do so.
Nice country town. A lot of options with regards to wineries. You can take a picnic lunch to some of the wineries which makes them very appealing. We have decided to return to the area and spend time winery hopping! Stanthorpe is still a work in progress. It is transitioning from a traditional country town into a destination for those wanting to explore regional Queensland. There are some specialty foodie places eg. cheese shops, juice shops etc and hopefully more specialty places will spring up and give the place a real vibe. There is so much potential to create a creative centre. There is also Girraween National Park close by which has fantastic day and overnight walks. It seems that the National Park and Stanthorpe are divorced from each other. The granite belt is spectacular and it would be great if Stanthorpe can somehow incorporate these magnificent rocks into the life of the town? If you want to getaway for a long weekend and experience the hospitality of regional Queensland in a relaxed setting Stanthorpe is the place for you 🌻
Convenient to walk in to town...Walk along river..easy access and safe walking for mature age people ..a few steps walk to Italian restraunt...Highly recommend visitors to book for dinner.Stanthorpe town...clean pretty good parking...Local people very friendly..lots of boutique and craft shops..
There is so much to see in Stanthorpe. Some places to visit are Granite Belt Brewery, Jamworks Pantry, Wallangarra Train Station, Sutton's for apple pie, wineries, cheese factories. Take a drive down to Tenterfield in New South Wales if you have time. We had dinner at O'Mara's Hotel and the RSL. Great meals and prices.
We had a fabulous stay in Villa 3 and would definitely return. The bushland property was tranquil, spacious, immaculately clean, with a well stocked kitchenette and a welcome pack of breakfast goodies. We enjoyed sitting on the deck with a glass of wine in the evening and watching the sun set. Our hosts were extremely hospitable and welcoming. The proximity to Girraween National Park for bushwalking, Stanthorpe for supplies and the wineries was a drawcard and we were not disappointed. Thanks so much for a lovely stay!
Friendly staff at reception. Cottage was spotless, well laid out and with good facilities. Comfortable bed with spare blanket if needed. The woodfire was a nice touch and there was an air conditioner as well. Being in a winery, access to the cellar door is a bonus-not only for the wine tasting and the excellent wines but they do a very good cheese platter. Close (6 or 7 km) to Stanthorpe for restaurants and shopping.
The cabins are some of the cleanest accommodation I've ever stayed in. This is the 3rd time I've stayed here but the first time in years. I love that is it has bath, fireplace, full kitchen and view. You don't get that easily for a good price in Stanthorpe. Pippa surprised us with champagne because it was our honeymoon.
Very comfortable motel. Room provided crockery ,cutlery and microwave containers to enable people to provide their own meals if necessary. Good location to access highway going past Stanthorpe if you didn't want to go through it. The attached Steakhouse restaurant was an added bonus with great meals and good service.

Beautiful cozy cottages! The breakfast basket was filled with beautiful local products and the strawberry jam made by the owner was exceptional!!! Fantastic and friendly service. Fantastic location for accessing all the Stanthorpe has to offer. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful accommodation, loved all the timber, and stunning views over Stanthorpe from every room. Everything you could need in the kitchen, and the fireplace and reverse cycle air conditioning made the place cosy and warm.
Robert was great and friendly and looked after us. Stanthorpe is a hidden Gem in QLD, with Giraween national park down the road, wineries, cheese tasting and a maze to get lost in.
The home was lovely and more than met the needs of our family of 4. It was comfortable, well provisioned, and only a short stroll from town. We'd definitely book again.
beautiful, property with tasteful and clean cottages. feels secluded yet only minutes from Stanthorpe. in short - simply magnificent!
Excellent refurbishment and comfy bed. Wifi was very good. Will stay there again when I travel through Stanthorpe.
