Located in Stanthorpe in the Queensland region, Briar Rose Cottages provides accommodations with free private parking. My wife and I came to Briar Rose Cottages for our wedding anniversary, and we loved the Silky Oak cottage very much. The fire was burning for us when we arrived, and the spiral staircase and loft bedroom with balcony was very charming. The cottage was well appointed and comfortable, but it was all the little touches that made our stay really memorable, like the marshmallows for toasting, the coffee machine and Tim Tams, the selection of books, and my wife loved the aromatherapy candle in the bathroom. The sunrise from our bedroom balcony on the frosty winter mornings was stunning. Debbie was great to communicate with and very helpful. Stanthorpe is a lovely, quiet spot, with a variety of wineries and local produce all within a short scenic drive. We cannot wait to come back again!
Located in Stanthorpe in South Queensland,, Granite Gardens Cottages & Lake Retreat is a beautiful property with peaceful, large gardens and waterways. My husband and I had such a wonderful escape to Granite Gardens for a baby moon. The hosts Lynne and Chris are such welcome, lovely and warm hearted people, they thought of everything and did their utmost to ensure we enjoyed our stay there. The location was great, out of the way enough to feel disconnect but close enough to head out and explore the beautiful area. Would 100% recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Her effort was non intrusive but 150% . They have set up their B&B with so much love. Their are little things to support this the whole way through. Immaculately clean which was amazing. The bed was extremely comfortable. With the fresh air from window open we snuggled down. The location was good, close enough to town. The RSL was busy with live music. Only a couple of minutes drive. The breakfast was to die for. Better than high quality restaurant food. I am a veto and she made a effort. It was appreciated. I would definitely stay there again.

We had a great time at the Apple and Grape Festival. At this time, we were there for the festivities and only visited a couple of venues around Stanthorpe. One of these was Sutton's Juice Factory. You can sample their different apple juices and their apple pie, cream and ice-cream are the best I have ever tasted. The RSL was great for dinner and Zest Pastries had very yummy food.
Always a beautiful place to visit, the people are welcoming and the food is great. Chilly during winter, but that's what you come for isn't it? Girraween NP is a must do and the wineries mean warm nights in front of a fire with a glass of happiness!
Stanthorpe was great- perfect weather- cool nights and glorious days. Great wineries- Ridgemill Estate and well worth a visit to Queensland College of Wine Tourism.. Stanthorpe Cheese Factory provides a number of cheeses for tasting. Stanthorpe is dog friendly and there are a number of places that dogs are welcome.
Stanthorpe is a fairly short road trip from the Gold Coast, just on 3 hours, and we wanted to explore some of the wineries. Unfortunately the conditions, weather-wise, weren’t the best being so dry, a dust storm heading towards the coast didn’t help either. We would certainly visit again when conditions are greener!! Bring on the rain...
Beautiful town, limited cafe choices open before 8am. But enjoyed brekky at the rustic coffee lounge. And the ploughman lunch at the jersey girls cafe was delightful. The staff at the wineries were exceptional and the kids loved feeding the goats at Ridgemill estate. Had a fantastic stay
The areas around Stanthorpe are lovely, the township itself is not mind blowing. We enjoyed cycling around to some of the vineyards, great wine tasting at Whiskey Gully Wines and a beautiful lunch at Ballandeen's Barrell Room. The Girraween National Park was a real highlight.
The fireplace, endless stock of wood, the beautiful views of Stanthorpe from the deck, the perfect darkness at the back where we could lay down a blanket and watch all the falling stars at night... a comfy bed, remote controlled blinds behind the curtains that ensure a good sleep-in if required. Lovely bottle of wine and crackers was a thoughtful arrival gift. Close the town centre and attractions. Info of what to see and do in Stanthorpe along with some history... a home away from home, we loved our stay and would highly recommend it.
Scott and Deb (the hosts) were very friendly and welcoming, with lots of useful information and suggestions about the numerous attractions that Stanthorpe has to offer. The studio villa we stayed in at 31 The Rocks was set in beautiful bushland, was very spacious, well maintained, with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and very enjoyable, made good use of the BBQ on the balcony which was clean and ready to go. Fantastic place, highly recommended, will definitely be going back.
Arriving in winter to a fire-warmed sunlit cottage was delightful. Communications with Debbie were fantastic, she’s welcoming and helpful. Being self-contained with kindling and wood close at hand as well as plenty of space to relax inside and out of the cottage. Close to all the attractions of the area and any necessary shopping at Stanthorpe
Great place to stay. Location amazing. Wine tasting is great. Even showed us around as grapes were being picked and how they started pressing them. Highly recommend and a good base to stay in Stanthorpe area. The free bottle of wine was so lovely.
Comfortable and homelike. Everything you would need for a very pleasant stay. Fireplace very welcome for a Stanthorpe winter. Excellent location for Anna’s Italian restaurant (a must do for a visit to the area). Great communication with hosts.
Peaceful cosy and warm, perfectly located between Stanthorpe and Balandeen to experience the restaurants and wineries and a visit to Donnellys Castle reserve

Cabins were cosy
Everything was a breeze from check in to check out. Denice and John were very accommodating hosts. We arrived later (around 7pm) and the cabin had the wood stove going so it was toasty in the house. The beds were comfortable and kept us warm in the winter nights. We made a reservation for their 6 course degustation and it was fabulous! 6 courses and wine and even John came out to entertain us with his guitars! The winery is located about 10 minutes from town but still close to heaps of other wineries. Great location! Thank you so much! The trip was fabulous!
So much! The hosts were welcoming, the accommodation was very comfy, nice and cosy with heaters and the fireplace, all self contained for easy dinners, loved the animals and getting involved with the feeding and learning more about them all! We definitely want to come back! Also the home grown bacon was amazing!!! As were the dozen farm fresh free range eggs!!! The BBQ needs a scrubbing brush for cleaning off, otherwise there were all the utensils we needed, plus more than enough cutlery and crockery!
The house was clean, tidy, spacious. Lots of room for us to enjoy.our meals and drinks. Karen was so helpful and we all felt at home and comfortable. The coffee machine was amazing
