Some great cafe's and winery's. Shops galore, groceries easily accessible. Highly recommend the Christmas Farm. Watch for opening times. A lot of places open for lunch, then close before re-opening for dinner. The Foxy Bakery has the most delicious bread.

Plenty of accommodation, lots of places to eat, the local fruit, (especially the apples) which is fabulous. Rug-up because it's cold in the evening. Ate at the RSL on Sunday evening which has good food and a friendly atmosphere. It's easy to walk around Stanthorpe during the day, has the usual conveniences. Watch out for the road patrols (don't speed in this area).

Stanthorpe and Applethorp are a hidden gem of the great divide granite country. Fruit, wine, cheese, national parks, country friendly people, cold winters, hot summers. Plenty of accommodation, motels, hotels, B&B's you pick to your requirements. Although I don't think you'll be staying in your accommodation room long...to much to see and do outside. It's a photographers and food lovers dream,

Beautiful town with a few things to do - visit Girraween National Park, Stanthorpe Cheese and the Truffle Experience. I am not into wineries but there are a few options. Don't miss out on the few murals around town! But, most importantly, as a Queenslander I wanted to experience the cold weather and Stanthorpe didn't disappoint - albeit I missed out on seeing any snow :(

I visited Stanthorpe with my daughter and young grandchildren and Apple Blossom Cottage was just perfect for us. The house was immaculately clean and had everything we needed for a weekend away. The villa is close by but not so close to intrude on each others privacy. The street is very quiet and there is a park nearby for kids. Highly recommend.
