Stawell is a very interesting historic town.
Stawell is a very interesting historic town. The local Stawell Gift Museum is well worth a visit. It details history of the internationally renowned foot race and is found at the grounds where the race is held. Lois was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Find the lookout for an overview of town and surrounding area. Couple of great cafes eateries in town. We were lucky enough to dine at the Stawell Harness Racing Bistro and you couldn't find better food. A lovely town with great history , nice gardens , especially the Kato Lake area right in the heart of the town . Good choices of places to eat , highly recommend Trackside Tabaret for variety, quality and value for money . Also the Chinese restaurant in the main street .
