Bansko retains it heart as a historic local settlement, but...

Bansko retains it heart as a historic local settlement, but the mass of ski developments threaten to overwhelm it. The old town is worth a visit - amazing church, lovely buildings, interesting history. Bansko provides great access to the Pirin mountains and an information Visitor Centre can help you decide where to walk, with some walks accessible for moderately fit people (not just mountaineers). However the impact of the ski development is huge, with pile after pile of die-stamp apartment blocks, supermarkets and restaurants offering international food options for skiers who presumably don't really care that they are in Bulgaria. All closed in summer meaning a large area is a kind of ghost town. We don't ski - reviews from those who do might take a different view. Overall, we'd recommend staying either somewhere else entirely or in the old town.

It does not look like normal mountain place with quiet...

It does not look like normal mountain place with quiet streets and nice view. Bansko became concrete town with too many people and buildings. Its have very expensive restaurants. I was disappointed. Before 15 years was better.

We absolutely loved Bansko!

We absolutely loved Bansko! It has such a great balance of everything — plenty of good food and restaurants, activities and events, beautiful nature, and lots to do for families. At the same time, it never felt overwhelming or too busy, and there were plenty of quiet moments to simply enjoy the surroundings. We found it especially family-friendly, with activities that kept both us and the kids entertained throughout our stay. It felt like the kind of place where you can have a full day of adventures and then slow down and enjoy a relaxed evening. Bansko really exceeded our expectations, and we would happily come back!

Although Bankso is mostly know as a ski resort, we were...

Although Bankso is mostly know as a ski resort, we were there during the summer, and it did not disappoint!! The surrounding mountian scenery is absolutley stunning and extremely tranquil. We went of various hikes in ther area which offered breathtaking views. Strolling through town was great fun and we were lucky to have been there during the jazz festival, which was amazing. The Pulse Therme - Thermal Spa is an absolute must!! We've never been to a Spa like this before. Just phenomenal!! (https://pulsetherme.bg/en/) Treat yourselves...You can thank me later :-) Another top notch attraction were ATVs. Extremely professional and top qualioty from every aspect. (https://banskoatv.com/) In short, Bankso was an unbeleivable experience and we highly recommend it as a great holiday spot.

Pleasant, attractive town at the base of the mountains with...

Pleasant, attractive town at the base of the mountains with plenty of accommodation options. A 15km bus ride takes one to the main mountain hiking area, while the cable car also offers a similar service. In the evening there is a lively restaurant scene with live, local music. We visited in the summer & did some great hikes. For ski enthusiasts, things get even better in the winter. This town is definitely one of the 'must visit' places in Bulgaria.

Interesting town, lots of traditional restaurants. Mixed quality of service ranging from exceptional to grunting and pointing. Beautiful view of the mountains. It is very active in the summer with events occurring very frequently. Quite walkable, but Google maps is a very poor guide. Most streets are not labeled. Signage is notoriously poor. We are going back and will stay for a longer period.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The underground parking was very convenient. Our terrace was facing the main street and it was noisy when the windows were opened. This hotel is a good choice if you want to stay close to the gondola for skiing, and it offers good value for the price. Just keep in mind that it’s more about practicality and value than luxury.

We came to Bansko for Ski Vacation so the hotel location is perfect - few minutes walking from the Gondola - the main cable car to the Ski site. no cab or rented car needed. The breakfast is good with the appropriate range of items as expected. The Spa area is good and exactly what needed at the end of long Ski day. We took a masage which was great and not expensive.

The host was very friendly and helpful! We enjoyed our stay. The hotel has a cozy winter vibe. The breakfast was great, the rooms are spacious and warm and there’s a place to leave your skis and boots so they can dry properly! The location is good - only a 7-10 minute walk from the center and there is plenty of space to park a car.

The hotel was amazing they let us have breakfast even when we were earlier from our check in and they found us room so we didn’t have to wait till noon. The spa was very clean also. The hotel provides bus transfer to the ski area which was so convenient for us not to take the car.
