The location is perfect, restaurants and shops nearby. Short drive to most of the natural attractions around the area. Special mention for a very helpful, friendly staff at reception, Serj was a super star. Also the highlight of our trip was the Auroras which showed up I'm full force on the 20th of October, we feel so blessed with this experience.

FAQs about hotels in Jasper

The Uplifting Power of Nature

Jasper sits in a green valley within a national park surrounded by the majestic Canadian Rockies. Water in its various forms has shaped the dramatic scenery and continues to create serene landscapes.

Tree-lined Lake Beauvert is the closest to town, but Pyramid and Patricia lakes are more famous thanks to the rugged peaks perfectly reflected in their still waters. Arguably the best of all is Maligne Lake whose incredible water colour is eclipsed by small, pine-lined Spirit Island. You may not know the name, but you’ll probably recognise the view.

Many glaciers come off the huge Columbia Icefield, roughly midway between Jasper and Lake Louise. Some have cut canyons where you can go ice walking. Other winter sports include ice skating and skiing at the Marmot Basin resort, named after local animals.

Bears inhabit the surrounding forests and more wildlife lives at The Den at Whistler Inn, just one Jasper accommodation option on Booking.com alongside mountain lodges and pet-friendly hotels with pools.

The Jasper Tramway – Canada’s highest cable car – goes to the top of The Whistlers mountain, and on the slopes of another are the Miette Hot Springs open-air pool.  The Jasper-Yellowhead Museum details the area’s history, and traditional Haida styles and colours are celebrated in the modern Two Brothers Totem Pole

Jasper is a great place to visit with lots of activities in around the town. Whilst it was badly affected by the wildfire in 2024 and you obviously still see the effects of this around the area, the town is very much open as are most tourist attractions and we should all support them.

    We stayed one night.

We stayed one night. We ate at the friendly Whistle Stop Pub (good atmosphere and food, great staff). Next morning, ate at Mitty's (good food, friendly staff). Some nice shops to wander about in. Would have liked to stay there longer, but we had a fixed itinerary. Hoping to spend more time there on our next trip to Canada.

We had planned to stay in Jasper longer but shortened our stay due to rain. The scenic 232 km (144 mile) drive through the Canadian Rockies from Lake Louise to Jasper, called Icefields Parkway, has breathtaking landscapes. Don't miss it!

Jasper was our favourite place of our tour.

Jasper was our favourite place of our tour. It is stunningly beautiful in spite of the devastating fire of 2024. We went on a guided to Lake Miligne, which included a boat trip to Spirit Island. We saw lots of wildlife on the way and had a very knowledgeable guide. We went on a wildlife bus tour in the evening with an equally knowledgeable guide and saw even more wildlife. Both guides told us about the fire and were very optimistic about the rejuvenation of the forest. There are an enormous amount of burnt trees, but also a huge amount of the area is unaffected. Definitely well worth a visit to spectacular place. We went with a guide on a hike up Sulphur Mountain which had spectacular views.

Jasper is recovering from severe wildfires and there is not a lot of accommodation. Restaurants are very highly priced so be prepared. Nice supermarket in the back street which has everything you may need to make your stay a little more economical.

Jasper has been ravaged by the wildfires in 2024.

Jasper has been ravaged by the wildfires in 2024. Reconstruction is well underway in the township, however thousands of hectares of forests are decimated. It is a stark reminder that nature rules. Definitely worth a visit to show support for the local community as they rebuild. It is very easy to walk round Jasper in a couple of hours. The terrain is flat with wide sidewalks suitable for less able visitors. There are plenty of coffee shops and gift shops although these do become repetitive.

We stayed at Chateau Jasper for two nights. The room was good and spacious. It had a washing sink, oven and a small refrigerator which was very convenient for us, considering we had two younger kids and this facility provided us with ease of warming our packed food, milk bottles and store milk for our kids. The beds were comfortable too and location of this hotel was just a 5-minute drive from the town center. Overall a good place to stay. They also had pool, which I did not try

Nice place to stay to explore the Rockies around Jasper; The town center is 10 away by foot. Although located by the road, it was not noisy at all. The room was big and had everything we needed. There is a small hot tub at the hotel which is usually very crowded in the summer.

The property was in a great rural location and just a short drive from the centre of Jasper. The room in the hotel was a nice size and clean and comfy. The location is great for spotting elk and we also saw a bald eagle fly down the river.
