St. John's is a favourite for me.
St. John's is a favourite for me. I enjoy shopping along Water St. and sampling the many restaurants in the area. It's fun to walk along George St. and stop in for a drink and some local entertainment at O'Reilly's. There are many tour companies that will shuttle you out of town for whale watching and puffin sanctuary tours. I love hiking the North Head Trail on Signal Hill. The views are spectacular and its a good workout that you can do at your own pace. I usually bring some snacks to sit and enjoy along the way. Great city, friendly people, lots of restaurants and shops. They close down Water Street in the summer where there are restaurants, cafes and shops and allow it to be a pedestrian walking area. St. John's and the surrounding area is lovely! We thoroughly enjoyed several sights during our 4-day girl's trip including, Signal Hill (be sure to say hi and get a pic with Sable the Newfoundlander and his owner), The Rooms, Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is stunning, Dildo (because you must just for a lark), Jelly Bean Row, Puffin & Whale Watch Tour (Gatherall's was great!), new food truck The Pinch Food Wagon (just outside Ferryland) was awesome and Ferryland Lighthouse is an absolute must see (even better if you order a picnic in advance). St. John's is a wonderful, small city. Hiking on Signal Hill and Quidi Vidi are spectacular (and there are so many other hikes within a half hour drive). There is a thriving culinary scene to enjoy! And, you can't beat the opportunities to enjoy live music.Guest review byMarianneCanada - 8.0

It was a nice, very clean and comfortable place. The kitchen was modern with all the utensils, dishes, cookware, microwave, new stove and refrigerator. The bedroom was large with a king bed and the full washroom just off of it and a small room with a washer and dryer. I was impressed with separate heat controls for the bedroom and livingroom. There was a desk for a work station and sofa to relax and watch TV. The main problem I had was with the TV. I was not able to watch much at all due to there was no sound. That was very frustrating. If you stay downtown for a few days, you don’t even need a...
If you stay downtown for a few days, you don’t even need a rental car. If you hike/walk/cab, you can get almost everywhere and have a very satisfying trip. If you stay longer than 3 days, you may want a car to see Cape Spear, Petty Harbour or anywhere else outside St. John’s. Tip: Book a car well before your trip. Lots of local flavour restaurants and micro breweries. Lots of history and scenery. Book a dinner theatre with Spirit of Newfoundland for a glimpse into the culture. Make sure you have tons of room on your phone for a million pics of rowhouses alone. You’ll love it here…and you may want to move here!Guest review byKeli-AnnCanada

We had spotty Wifi in St Johns and difficulty receiving email about enterance to our stay. Carole promptly tried messaging and phoning to sort out the details. We arrived and settled without problems-Thank you Carole. We had a very comfortable sleep and excellent breakfast on the top floor. The house is an old Heritage site with Stories to tell.
