Sooke is a great base of operation for exploring beaches and trails in the area. One of our favourite "trails" was the 3km long Whiffin Spit. We walked the Spit every morning, and sometimes returned late afternoon. Lots of great restaurants, shopping and services in the area. We picked this location as it was close to family in...
We picked this location as it was close to family in Langford, and also, so our son could try surfing in Jordan River and Sombrio beach. Enjoyed some of the local restaurants but the traffic congestion getting to Sooke from Victoria, Langford, and highway 1 is brutal, even outside of rush hour times.Guest review byPasieka - 10.0

We went fishing for 2 days. Rough water on 2nd day. Caught coho and crab. We were lucky to see pods of orcas while fishing. The Prestige restaurant served fabulous dinners. Definitely had to upgrade from what Booking.com booked for...
Definitely had to upgrade from what Booking.com booked for us. It was the lowest quality room they had. The service and staff were excellent. After upgrading to an ocean view and balcony the bedroom and bathroom were very good size but the bed was way too hard. I had to stack up the towels to make it softer for my hips. The restaurant service was good, the chef even spiced up my tuna bowl for me. Even for October the gardens were beautiful with fire pots and comfy chairs. Nice veranda with beautiful view from the restaurant. Good happy hour menu and drinks list. Beautiful place to go to in October. Excellent resort for weddings.Guest review byYOLANDE

Enjoyed the portion of the deck partitioned off for guests, this had a nice view of the garden. Towels and linens were well stocked. The bedroom windows had both blinds and curtains which was nice for darkening the room at night. We arrived by bike and did have to get to the top of the hill, but there was plenty of space to relax, tea and snacks helped us unwind after a day of 70k+ of cycling.
