Everything was great at Alpina! It was a very cozy hotel at a very reasonable price. Location was perfect and literally right across the street from the gondola and walking distance to the grocery store, ski stores, and other restaurants. Hotel and restaurant staff was wonderful (especially Summer), the spa was amazing, ski room was very convenient, view from the room was beautiful, and the food at the restaurant was very good. Also, no issues with noise - the walls seemed quite thick. The spa was a really great feature (and free!) - we would book the time we wanted to go the night before and it was the perfect way to wind down after skiing (steam room, sauna, hot tub, spa beds). We are very pleased with our experience staying here and will definitely be coming back if we plan to ski again in Switzerland. We have already been telling friends and family to come stay here! Thank you Summer and co. for being a wonderful hosts to us!!

I've stayed here 2x before and came back because it's such a lovely place in a great location - two minutes' walk from the bus station at Chandolin Poste, two minutes from the grocery shop, and with an amazing breakfast and dinner offerings. The rooms (I stayed in the bunk bed option but by myself) are very comfortable, with a great bathroom setup (rain shower!), comfy bed, water, coffee machine and pods, and lift access to the rooms. The staff are truly lovely and let us store our overnight bags before and after our stay while we went to work up on the mountain.

Stephane was a spectacular host. He prepared fresh bread and breakfast for us and arranged for a nice time in sauna and spa. My husband got sprain in his leg so he gave him a stick to walk .

A hidden gem in the mountains! We had an unforgettable stay at this charming B&B in Ayer. It offers a cozy, intimate atmosphere and is impeccably clean—feels like 5-star service. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home, from thoughtful chats to planning personalized day trips around the area. The homemade dinners and breakfasts were a real highlight—packed with local ingredients, generous portions, and full of flavor. It’s rare to find such heart and care poured into every detail. We felt incredibly well looked after, and getting to know Emily and John made the whole experience feel deeply personal and special. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the region. A very nice hotel. The staff is wonderful; actually the couple who owns the hotel works hard to make your stay enjoyable: cleanliness, breakfast and meals at the restaurant, and, above all, kind conversations. The place is simple: currently, it offers only shared WC, but this is almost an advantage, because it's very clean all day long, always available, whereas it makes the price noticeably lower with no real drawbacks. The beds are quite confortable

    Nice little (original Swiss Valais) town. Lots of traffic. Very old infrastructure in the ski area (with a few new gondolas and chairlifts). Waiting in line for the lift is annoying. The longest time I've experienced.

    Nice place but it seems they start to turn it into a construction site, a lot of new development at higher altitude levels ; it still has charm but fear that this unknown gem is now fully exposed to foreign and domestic real estate investments. I come here for over 18 years and witnessed these gradual changes with mixed emotions. Also prices are hiked up seriously, dinner, supermarket, replacing a broken ski helmet with a new one etc...seems all 30 to 40 percent more expensive than comparable resorts in France .

    Grimentz is a very pretty village up on the mountains.

    Grimentz is a very pretty village up on the mountains. But it is still small enough to be very quiet and cozy. Having a car helps a lot. You can also drive up to a dam and lake or even higher up to the glacier (Parking space at both locations). Cable car stations in the middle of the village with access to both mountain sides. Lots of shopping options.

    Very friendly staff - the hotel manager was very helpful, with a quirky yet enjoyable sense of humour. There's a sauna at the hotel! -- we couldn't use it this trip, but will definitely try it the next time. Felt very safe at the hotel.

    Location was great - right next to the ski lifts. All restaurants and bars were in walking distance. We parked the car and left it all week. The spa area was a nice surprise.
