This hotel is excellent! The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout the entire stay. Even before our stay they were communicating with advice on how to travel to the area and arranged to collect us from the local train station. The accommodation was superb and the views are unbeatable. The staff are very knowledgable and are always keen to help you make the most of your stay and even held a small drinks receptions on the terrace to welcome guests which was a lovely touch. We were introduced to a lovely couple during this who we ended up spending a lovely evening with over dinner which was a nice bonus. And finally, the restaurant. The chef is outstanding and the 3 course set menu was an absolute delight and exceptional value. Hans, Johnny and the rest of the team made this a thoroughly enjoyable stay and is without doubt one of my favourite hotels. We will definitely be back to visit soon.

It a charming old school village without cars. That is is the most important reason for me going there. It is not big, and it is on the south side in 1200m so, it is sunny. I like traveling by train. What comes to skiiing, possibilities are endless and views are the best in the world, really. It is not the most convenient place to get to the slopes, but after you have planned your day, and stick to it, it is great. Also, there are a lot of nice walking trails for summer and winter.
Very good location central in Jungfrau region to go everywhere, children/family friendly, car free status is a bonus, easy to walk in town (if you do not mind hills from some locations), amazing views, not as busy as Grindelwald (a good thing), Da Sina good resturant but reserve table, outdoor pool great and care taker super friendly.
Wengen is extremely accessible to Jungfrau (Top of Europe), Grindelwald First (Top of Adventure) and Mannlichen (has a very scenic cable car and a hike too). You get the feeling of being in a very cute mountain village in Wengen, with plenty of dining options (it feels alive even at night). I stayed at Hotel Bellevue, about a 500m walk from the train station/cable car station. The hotel is quaint, cute and cozy. It has stunning views of the Lauterbrunnen valley. I had dinner here 2 out of 3 nights - it was very well made and I was glad they had vegetarian options. On the 3rd night, I ate Raclette, a swiss dish at Hotel Bernerhof - that was amazing too! Walks around the village are also very scenic and looks spectacular after fresh snow. I tried Gluhwein at both Bellevue and Bernerhof and it's a must-try if you're there in winter! Overall, even if you're not into skiing and just want a holiday, it's a great place to be and soak in the natural beauty, fresh air and Swiss cheese and chocolate.
Wengen is better than Murren. The latter straggles whereas Wengen is compact. Good evening music in Sunstar and other hotels. Range of night eating OK from Santo's takeaway/eat-in,( great eggburger) thro Bernerhof modest price restaurant to pricey hotel meals. Main lift station and ski train both very central.
The views are spactaular! Make sure to go to the church. Had some Trouble picking between wengen, lautebrunnen and grindewald, but we’re glad we settled here! Quieter, less tourists and amazing amazing views! Make sure you check out the view from the church! Food at pasta and more is great!
We were there off season (November) so it was quiet. But still plenty to do. Eiger Cafe is really good. Easy to get most anywhere in the Jungfrau area (once they re-open the train from Laudebrunnen to Interlaken in December 2019).
This was our second stay here and needless to say we love it. The staff were friendly and attentive and they made my dad and I stays perfect. I can't say enough good things about them!! From simple conversations during breakfast to recommendations for local hikes and sightseeing to just general conversation, we never encountered someone who wasn't just happy and nice and willing to help. The rooms have the best views of the valley and were kept in good condition and super clean. Location, location, location!! Steps from the train station (you never heard any noise from the trains) and just a few minutes walk to town and hikes and gondola up.
The hotel is located in a quiet corner of Wengen and offers an amazing view of the surrounding mountains. The staff is very helpful and the room was immaculate. Absolutely worth visiting!
