Dinner was four courses, including a cold starter, a bowl of soup, the main dish and dessert. Every day you had two options for the main dish, we didn't choose the vegetarian option, so I cannot say anything about that but the non-vegetarian option was amazing, especially on our second night which was lamb ribs with potatoes and ratatouille. Cozy chalet with the most stunning views of the beautiful mountains and awesome Lauterbrunnen valley! We went in early May, awesome for low crowds but limited restaurants and higher hiking areas not yet open. Still plenty to do and loved this stay! Ruth is a fabulous host, available to answer any questions quickly. Would love to return again!
Fabulous located chalet in traditional Swiss resort - with one of the most magnificent views in town from our balcony. Chalet is located a pleasant 10 minute walk to the village along a picturesque pathway. We stored our skis/boots at the central hire depot in Wengen so that the walk up the hill was pleasant. Owner was extremely helpful and great communication. Village is car free enhancing the traditional swiss village, but the infrastructure - train system and lifts were amazing - try the Eiger Express just opened. Amazing - would return in a heart beat.
I want to tell you that it was awful so you don't go there. Been going back for 25 years plus. Love it. Keep away. The only thing I can say negative is that in the last 4 years the Grindelwald side has become so much more commercial and is losing the old world charm we loved
Wengen is a gorgeous, car-free resort in the mountains, with stunning views all around, fantastic walks, and excellent connections by train or cable car to lots of other places. It's got a good selection of restaurants; we particularly enjoyed the Da Sina pizzeria. There aren't many shops, but the bakery is fantastic, and the co-op and deli are fine if you're self-catering. Wengen feels like a small village, and the people are very friendly, so even when there are quite a lot of visitors, it doesn't feel overwhelmingly busy.
Wengen is very small and at the end of where SBB can take you with your GA (Kleine Scheidegg etc require additional tickets). There are some interesting restaurants, and the views of Jungfrau and the Lauterbrunnen valley are really great. It's just a few minutes up from Lauterbrunnen, but IMO the extra views make it worth going just that much farther to stay overnight.
We liked the location, mostly free of traffic, at the foot of the majestic Jungfrau mountain (we've been given to see one day in the sun!). For us, older people, the stay in the 1st half of May was too early to consider a ride to the Maennlichen or the Kleine Scheidegg, but it wasn't the purpose of our stay. Still in the midst of Covid-restrictions, there was no opportunity for culinary discoveries, but our hotel provided for a pleasant and nice selection of meals. We strolled through the village with ease, It is a place which is easy to get acquainted with. On a next stay, we surely wouldn't avoid anything we did during our first one, but would rather look to add a few activities more.
Wengen
enjoyed a wonderful stay at Berghaus. The location in Wengen is great - a few minutes walk to the Main Street but far enough away to miss the bustle. The hotel is charming, clean, welcoming, and efficient. My room was sized well and had all the amenities I needed. Martina, the “face” of the hotel was wonderful and gave my stay a very personal feel. I’ve no doubt all the behind-the-scenes people do a great job as well because my four day stay there went off without a hitch. I’d return to Berghaus without hesitation.
The breakfast was amazing and the view from the room was stunning! We would wake up with the Alps on our windows. Also, the chefs and all kitchen staff were very kind and helpful at all times. The journey to get to the hotel was another great experience as you would have to walk through the beautiful city of Wengen (unless you want them to pick you up at the train station which is also possible) and then reach the hotel which is located in a quiet yet close to the centre area.
My wife and I stayed at Maya Caprice Hotel in Wengen in March 2022 - superb location, conveniently close to the train station and the cable car station to Männlichen, but these stations are not usually busy at all so the place is still very quiet. A few awesome hiking trails also start from within walking distance. The room was great, but the view was surely the highlight! Staff were also very helpful, and the food was good. We'll be back for sure!
It was my second stay obviously it’s location with millions dollar view Yael and Jessica at front desk was super friendly Carlos in breakfast room is supper friendly made me feel comfortable as at home Sanjev in kitchen thanks for delicious food Eveytime I’ll be back in Wengen Silberhorn will be my home away from home 😍😍
Wengen
The staff is very helpful and nice. Breakfast is very nice with wide variety. Location wise is just opposite the train station. We were provided with a mountain view room, very scenic! Definitely worth the money and I will back to this hotel if I visit Wengen again in future.
This hotel really does have the best view in all of Wengen! We did not want to leave our balcony. The hotel is very charming because it is old! I think 1890? But the bed is very comfortable, and the bathrooms work well. The breakfast is amazing.
We loved Aparthotel Bernerhof and would live there forever if we could! Having a kitchen to cook meals was wonderful, and the view was breathtaking. We were perfectly positioned in Wengen for hikes in all directions. We will definitely be back.
Wengen
It’s location is excellent and the views are wonderful. The staff in the adjacent hotel Wengenerhof are extremely helpful and friendly and it’s good to have the option to eat there.

Awesome Chalet apartment in the Swiss Alps. Apartment quite large for our family of 4. Amazing views and nice location within Wengen.
The cutest building in Wengen! Staff are wonderful and friendly and the rooms were spacious, clean, and had the best Mountain Views.
