I had a very peaceful and special stay at this property which is locally owned and operated. I felt like I was in paradise. The property is beautiful and very well maintained and cared for. There are many different tree species which attract lots of wildlife. I saw lots of wildlife without having to look for any. The cabin I stayed in was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. It had a fan and a great shower. I also enjoyed laying on the hammock and just listening to birds and monkeys while having the sound of the waves crashing in the background. The beach (Playa Las Caletas) is a 4 minute walk and is absolutely gorgeous. I swam there a couple of times and had the entire beach to myself. I also watched the most beautiful sunset from there. The lodge is also a 4 minute walk to get on the Drake Bay public trail (can go either direction) which is such a great trail along the beach. The food that was served was delicious and wholesome. The cherry on top for this place is how lovely Guillermo and Isaac and their families are. They are incredibly sweet and kind and were very welcoming. They made my stay there extra special and I can’t wait to go back!

We loved everything about the Natural Drake Bay Hotel! The hotel is newly renovated and run by the most amazing local family, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The room, facilities, and food were top-notch. We've been to Costa Rica several times, and this place is, by far, one of our favorites. We saw almost as much wildlife on the hotel grounds as we did during our tour of Corcovado!

Beautiful oasis in the jungle. The Casitas were amazing with a jungle view from the balcony and open shower (with hot water too)!! It was very clean and comfortable. The family that runs it were very sweet and fun. Having breakfast and dinner right on the property was an added bonus. The food was very tasty. Would definitely stay here again.

Our family just wrapped up a 3 night stay at Hidden Paradise lodge and it was a dream. Beautiful, authentic and just perfect for what we wanted as a family. The staff are so kind, attentive, helpful and true pura vida vibes. We loved every breakfast and dinner so much. The pool was fabulous! Mariela, Jorge and Ryan helped us organize our day trips and we were extremely pleased!! We will be back!

It was clean, the staff was friendly, the room was private, and the hammocks on our private porch were so relaxing. Happy hour at the pool was a great way to finish a busy day of hiking. The pool was always fairly quiet because there are not a ton of rooms at the location.

It's hard to describe the beauty of the Osa and the Aguila de Osa is in an ideal location to experience it. Falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle is so amazing. The Drake Bay public trail is right there and it offers 3 hours of some of the most beautiful trails that we have ever walked. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful too.

    Central location, comfortable room.

    Central location, comfortable room. The pool was really lovely to sit near and relax, cool off. Staff was exceptional and helpful in all manners. Receptionist helped me book all of my activities and was super accommodating. The restaurant staff were so friendly, and even remembered my name after I came a few times. Very convenient to have on site. It had everything I coud want and price was reasonable. I already want to go back and will book there again.

    It was very remote.

    It was very remote. We spent three nights there and enjoyed early active mornings and chill afternoons with an early dinner and bedtimes. There's not much to do at night which was fine by us. We loved watching the town wake up in the morning. We went diving at Cano Island and loved the turtles and all of the varieties of fish. The water was so clear when we went, it was one of the better diving experiences in Costa Rica so far!

    Fantastic stay.

    Fantastic stay. Exactly as described except wifi didn't work in our room, we had to go to the office/breakfast area to use it. The views from the room were spectacular overlooking Drake Bay. We had daily visits from capuchins, macaws, parrots, hummingbirds, etc The beds were comfortable as were the chairs and hammocks on the porch. Handrails going up the steep tire steps to the room would have been helpful. The owner went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was delicious and made to order.

    Great place to stay if you want to visit Corcovado national...

    Great place to stay if you want to visit Corcovado national park. Not only Corcovado is worthwhile but Drake Bay itself as well. I would recommend taking the boat from Sierpe to Drake Bay as it’s very convenient and the boat ride is extremely scenic!

    The flora and fauna of adjacent parks is amazing but you...

    The flora and fauna of adjacent parks is amazing but you must visit them with a guide for the appropriate access and to really appreciate what is there. Drake is a the ideal place from which to reach the parks. We travelled to Drake Bay by intercity bus from San Jose and connected with the ferry. The "wet landing" was a first for us - a genuine adventure where the ferry assistants wade your luggage to shore on their shoulders and the passengers just focus on getting themselves to shore. The ferry takes an hour or so through amazing mangroves. Make sure to tell your hotel to book you on the ferry to avoid misunderstanding -- there are only two ferries per day and you don't want to lose a day/night in Sierpe. The park is amazing --book a tour well in advance as daily entries are limited. Access to the park is by boat. Birds galore, several species of monkey including the mighty howler, tapirs, two species of ant eater, and many more creatures. We did the snorkeling tour too which was also amazing. We saw deep sea turtles, sharks, manta rays and a plethora of species of fish. Beautiful, pristine and rules about not interrupting wildlife. For example, we were watching a turtle and she started to rise for air and we all had to move back 4-6 metres and we had the joy of then watching her float on the surface for a while and just rock in the waves.     Great place to stay at drake bay, really close to the best restaurant we found in drake bay by miles (casa el tortugo drakes kitchen) 5 minutes walk to the beach and had a supermarket next door! Comfortable bed, views of the jungle from the kitchen/sitting area where we spotted a large variety of wildlife, amazing hosts, gave us loads of info of how best to get to drake bay as it’s very remote. Couldn’t of asked for a better place to base ourselves at drake bay highly recommend to anyone coming to the area.

    The team is amazing and they really go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. They immediately responded to emails when we had questions or requests. Additionally they take care of the boat transfer, shuttle to and from the hotel, booking of tours. The rooms are simple yet nice and overall it is a great experience to stay here. There's also lots of wildlife on the hotel premises, which makes it even more exciting.

    Beautiful hotel with fantastic food. Lovely staff we felt really pampered. Hotel has its own beach with suspension walkway. So much wildlife amazing views across bay from restaurant area. Organised a trip to national park accessed by speedboat a night tour and a snorkelling trip. Seemed expensive when booked but definitely worth it we would stay again one of nicest hotels in Costa Rica.

    The pool, great staff, very good restaurant inside the hotel (and they accept credit card with no extra fee). Petra the owner does a quite amazing job in organising the ferry from Sierpe to Drake Bay and picking you up at the beach. Especially because it is not so easy to get there this is very helpful. And a special thanks goes to the waiter in the hotel restaurant, he was so kind. :)

    Really beautiful hotel just up the hill from Drakes Bay. The hotel picked us up from the boat and even gave us an upgrade on our room, which was really comfortable and well equipped with a fantastic view. The pool and seating area are really nice with great views. The hotel was great value for money and we would definitely stay again and opt for the superior room
