Located on a mountain peak 3609 feet above sea level, in the picturesque Agros Village at the heart of Pitsilia, the newly upgraded Rodon Hotel features a traditional, stone-built structure, enjoying... Very peaceful location, beautiful panoramas. The hotel is very clean and the staff very helpful. Good local food at a good price.
AgroSpito Traditional Guest House offers accommodations in Agros Village. This stone-built property features a covered, furnished stone terrace. Rooms are fitted with a flat-screen TV. The house was very clean and the design was beautiful. The owner was friendly and provided us important information about the area. The view from the house was splendid. Highly recommended for couples!
Located in Agros, Pramateftis House provides accommodations with a balcony and free WiFi. The country house features mountain views and is 16 mi from Platres. I could stay here for ever! Featuring accommodations with a terrace, Agrompelo House is located in Agros. The accommodations is 17 mi from Platres, and guests benefit from complimentary WiFi and private parking available on... Lovely location, stunning views and very quiet. Close enough to the village for supplies but far enough away to feel secluded.
Located at 1100m it is the perfect place to relax or have a walk in nature. Or you may just have a stroll around the small little streets to explore this beautiful village. There is a short walk in nature just behind the Fountain of the Crab ("Kaouros") leading through a small forest uphill and then returning back trough the village. For hike lovers there are several paths you may wish to explore. My favourite is the "Teisia tis Madaris" path. Up from the highest peak of the walk, there is the most fantastic view all over Cyprus! The village offers about anything you need. Several Restaurants, Agrotourism accommodation (We stayed for 3 nights at xmas at the "Agrospito" - to be highly recommended) or Hotel, Supermarkets and Butchers. Agros is well known for his products from wild roses, growing around the area. As well you may want to shop for local smoked sausages or bacon. :) We had a very nice, tasty xmas dinner (Makarionia tou fournou and a kind of Kleftiko (lamb)) at the 7 Hills restaurant. Sitting in front of the cozy fire place. Staff was very friendly, so this was not our only meal we had at this beautiful restaurant. :)
Not much going on during our stay. Places of interest were closed. Public road works were going on. Catering establishments could and were expected to be, more and offering a greater number of options to visitors.
Agros is a beautiful village! It has several restaurants, with really good food. For breakfast there aren't a lot of places, but there is a hotel which serves breakfast until 10:00, and some restaurants have sandwiches on their menu like "to Linari". Some weekends there is also a bar opening at night in the centre of the village. Due to the fact that it is on a mountain, i would recommend it for people who like nature, mountain walks, or sports like hiking, cycling etc.
Is on of the biggest villages on Troodos Mountains. Has everything you need and has the best air in Cyprus. Just visit it once and you will see what I mean. :) Great restaurants, friendly people a lot of natural trails and the famous rose factories. Great for any time of year.
We enjoyed volunteering at Chris Tsolakis Organic Rose Factory, picking roses in the early morning, and sampling their many and varied rose products. For the best experience, come in May before, during, or just after the Rose Festival. Andrea and Elena were so kind and courteous and explained everything patiently. We ate our meals at the Pantheon Restaurant, which offered stunning views of the surrounding mountains and traditional Cyprus cooking. For a taste of village cooking, ask for the special of the day. We tried black-eyed peas and swiss chard with olive oil and lemon, and another time meatballs with orzo, and both times greatly enjoyed our meals. Ask at the Rodon Hotel for directions to the starting point for the circular nature hike to Kato Mylos and back.
Several shops and restaurants in town, and public transport to Limassol is regular and efficient. There are plenty of walks around, both nature trails and just unmade roads, all with lovely views, flowers, birds, and not another soul in sight. People are really friendly and helpful. Note that Agros is clearly a bikers venue and the main street and cafe's was noisy with big loud bikes and bikers in all their gear all weekend during the day.
Very peaceful location, beautiful panoramas. The hotel is very clean and the staff very helpful. Good local food at a good price.
