Hosted in an 1929 stone building, New Helvetia Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Cyprus, ran by the 4th generation of owners and offers free WiFi, and on-site fitness facilities. The staff are super friendly and we had a great time talking to everyone. The hotel is very clean and has an excellent view of the mountains. Really, this place is magical and worth every penny.
Petit Palais Platres Hotel features a restaurant, bar, a shared lounge and garden in Platres. We had a wonderful two night stay in the Petit Palais Hotel. The staff were exceptionally kind and accommodating. On our arrival, we mentioned to the receptionist that we were thinking of going to the Kaledonia waterfall but we we had been having difficulty finding it earlier that day. When we returned from dropping our bags to our room, he had actually drawn us a little map of the route! It was a great start and the hospitality continued in the same vein throughout our stay. For example, each night tiny pastries were left in our room along with a note wishing us a good night's rest. The hotel is modern and comfortable. The shower was great with plenty of hot water. We also tried the hotel restaurant one night. I had the trout and it was perfectly cooked. It was served with rice, a fava bean paste and some spinach. It was a refined dish, cooked with flair and imagination. All in all, it was obvious that the team at Petit Palais Patres are making a huge effort to impress. They certainly succeeded!
P.S.N. Platres Flats is located in Platres. It offers spacious rooms and fully equipped apartments with garden, mountain or pool views. Free WiFi is available throughout. Everything was perfect, the host welcomed us in person and explained us everything around. The flat is very quiet so perfect to rest, we got some tea bags + coffee. Shower with hot water, a boiler is available and even 2 small bottles of wine ! We recommend.
Boasting pool views, Cozy mountain apartment in Platres features accommodations with a terrace and a balcony, around 1640 feet from Sparti Adventure Park. This apartment feels like its somewhere in the alps, it is very cozy. Definitely coming back!
Set in a pine forest on the slopes of the Troodos Moutains, this resort offers a solar-heated pool, a hot tub and a sauna. The Mediterranean Sea is a 35-minute drive away. The hotel is located inside the forest. It’s very peaceful. Everywhere you look you see trees & nature beauty. In love. Highly recommended. Our rooms were on the 7th floor. Iam IN LOVE. Will come back definitely 🥰
There are a wealth of interesting villages around Troodos if you have a car. The nature walks are a welcome relief from the busy cities. Strongly recommend the Troodos Botanical Garden, it is beautiful and completely unexpected.
The weather, scenic view, olympos peak is a must, ate at sun valley restaurant and at the hotel, both were perfect offering a variety of tasty home made food. The road network is excellent. There are countless walks and small villages all around
What I liked the most is the tasty food and the amazing view in our room which was well cleaned. The staff was kind and ready to help. The only thing I didn’t like much is that it was a bit cold in the restaurant. In general, all good! I’d like to come again!
Troodos is lovely, est 10'c cooler than Paphos or Larnaca very pleasant. A trip to kaledonia waterfalls is a must. A 30 minute walk up hill and steps but a lovely site. Take a picnic as no stores are at the top. I would also recommend wearing trainers regardless of how hot you are. Platres is a few minutes drive from the waterfall which is a great location for food and the views from most are amazing.
I always adore Troodos and its area. I love the nature in every season. In winter you are able to see the snow and storms, and in summer its really cool place to escape from hot :) There are too many walking-hiking trails and cycling routes. Special food of the area is Bestrofa (trout fish) with mezes and ouzo! We ate in Two Flowers Restaurant - Pedulas. Its a family owned business and always fresh. They have a fireplace and great view of the village from up! I think its easy to wonder around, even if you get lost you are going to see something that you will like, so don't get afraid about getting lost.
A great place to escape from the city life, enjoy the clean air, relax in the calmness of the mountains, do some hiking and enjoy some quality time with a loved one. I'm sure it's even better in the winter time when everything is covered in snow :) Overall a great stay!
Great staff, amazing views of the mountains, excellent breakfast
