Location is great. Staff really nice and helpful. Good breakfast. Comfortable/clean room. We were even allowed to check-in early. And they stored our luggage before checking in and after checkout.

Everything about this hotel was perfect. We were there for the Christmas market which was right out the back door. Parking was also super convenient, we could take the elevator from our room to our car. We would definitely stay here again!

The staff were very friendly and welcoming! The location was ideal as it was within minutes of hikes and attractions but also gives you a feel that you are off the beaten path. We fully took advantage of the on-site spa. Our last night there I had their house special for dinner and it was one of the best meals I had during our trip! Also super pet friendly offering a nice wooded walking path at the back of the hotel.

The Schwabenwirt is a 3-star hotel that surpasses the quality of many 4-star hotels. As a frequent traveler who has stayed in numerous 3-star establishments, I can attest that very few have matched the level of service and room quality offered at Schwabenwirt. The hotel staff greeted us with enthusiasm and positive energy, readily assisting with any inquiries before and during our stay to ensure our satisfaction. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the balcony, and the soothing sound of the nearby river contributed to peaceful nights of sleep. Breakfast met the expectations of a 3-star hotel, offering a delicious and satisfying spread. No complaints there. The location is ideal for travelers arriving by train, with a main bus station conveniently located in front of the train station. Plenty of buses are available to transport travelers to key attractions in Berchtesgaden and Ramsau. If I return to Berchtesgaden, there's no doubt I'll choose to stay at the Schwabenwirt again. We dined at the hotel restaurant, and to our surprise, the food was excellent. It was so good that we decided to return for dinner the following evening. We noticed several locals dining at the Schwabenwirt's restaurant, indicating its popularity among residents. When locals choose a restaurant, you can't go wrong following their lead.

Breakfast is included and it's absolutely delicious! The staff is incredibly friendly and treat you like family. Although we didn't utilize this service, they provide you with bus passes to get around town in - which is a nice perk! They have a handful of different types of saunas which were super relaxing to go around and rotate in. The pool is clean and great to cool off in after the saunas.

    A beautiful town with amazing mountain views and plenty to do. The guest card gives reductions on a number of attractions and free public transport in the area. Recommended - the Salzberg salt mine, Watzmanntherme (spa), Salzburg day trip, the Obersalzberg documentation centre and Eagle's Nest, Königssee boat trip (and swimming), Hintersee. There are places to eat next to the hotel, but also in the town centre (about 10-15 minutes on foot or free on the bus).

    Berchtesgaden is very beautiful and unspoilt!

    Berchtesgaden is very beautiful and unspoilt! It is a haven for hikers and people who loves nature. Another main attraction is that you don't need car here... The public transport is very good and has good connections to all the main attractions ,moreover it is free for guests spending the night in Berchtesgaden. Main attractions that we loved Lake Konigsee Jennerbahn Two Gorges which are absolutely breathtaking, for most parts it's easy walk.

    Berchtesgaden is a famous Alpine resort.

    Berchtesgaden is a famous Alpine resort. You can find peace and relaxation here. Besides, there are very interesting historical sites inside the town and in its surroundings as well. It is a perfect place if you like both nature and history. You can visit the royal palace and cathedral, museums, go up to Obersalzberg and Eagle's Nest, sail by boat to St. Bartholomew Church at the King's Lake. Finally, Berchtesgaden is close to Salzburg to which it is easily connected by bus.

    An amazing place, visited many, many years ago. The people are friendly and it is a beautiful place. The only negative thing is that a lot of the restaurants close fairly early, even at the weekend.

    The family was so friendly!

    The family was so friendly! I am vegetarian so the mother who cooks dinners for everyone every day, adapted my dishes to my vegetarian needs. She also made me a special blueberry, homemade warm pancake dessert to surprise me. The son who spoke more English, was very helpful and gave me a table in the balcony with la beautiful view of the Alps. If you want a place where you can bicycle, hike, and relax, with a hearty breakfast and tasty homemade meals, this is the place!

    Frankfurt to Berchtesgaden often gets congested due to ongoing road work. But best views while driving. Town Center got all necessary shops so once can grab needed things. Salt mine guided trip was nice and affordable price . We got photos for free😇. Königsee boat is best and Jennerbahn is okay okay but clubbed ticket of 54 eur is still affordable covering both. Fantastic lake view.

    Nice location, close to all major places in Berchtesgaden and surroundings if you have a car. There is a small parking space right next to the accommodation. If it is occupied, you can park 20 meters away. The building is right next to the train track, which can be a little loud during the day, but in the night we didn’t have any issues. The room was clean. Hosts were very friendly, the lady was speaking English in case if you don’t speak German. Overall a nice stay in reasonable price. We would stay there again.

    Absolutely phenomenal stay at the AlpinaRos - the staff couldnt have been more friendly and helpful, room was lovely and clean, with a great balcony. Breakfast was great, not just continental but also bacon, egg and sausage! The view from the outdoor seated area is breathtaking! Id recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Berchtesgaden! Dont miss the Eagles Nest nearby - its beautiful beyond words!

    The classic Bavarian charm of this historic hotel in Berchtesgaden was terrific. A great location as well, a short walk to the center of old town, but not in the thick of it. Also, stunning views! Several hotels with similar old charm have closed or been renovated in recent years, this one is a gem.

    We intentionally went for a hotel that's close to the train station because our main method of traveling is public transportation. The hotel's location is everything, we will definitely stay at this hotel if we ever visit Berchtesgaden again!
