The people of Antequera are very friendly and welcoming. Although a little steep in places it is an easy place to get around. There is a tourist hop on hop off train which covers the city. But unfortunately there was no information on a national holiday of 1st May to tell us the train terminated at 4pm. So we spent 30 euros for 3 of us and were only able to go from bull ring to Alcazaba. We had to walk down which some people could not have done and no taxis available.
You can't miss the "Dolmens" and "El Torcal", which are amazing sites. The town centre is very beautiful and it deserves a stroll, a visit to some of its numerous churches and a stop for tapas or a good meal. If you have young children they would be very happy to visit "El parque de los Lobos" (the wolves park), on the way to El Torcal. There are also other nice little villages in the area to visit, as Archidona with its peculiar octagonal square, or go hiking to "La fuente de los 100 caños" in Villanueva del Trabuco. A meal in "El Caserío de San Benito" on the way back to Antequera is a treat to yourself and very good value for money!
Took a nice city tour hop on/hop off. Alcazar was spectacular. Beautiful old city with Neolithic, Roman, moorish and Christian sites. Specifically came to see Lobo Park, the wolf sanctuary. That was great.
Great location and room size though the hill from Anteqera Ciudad train station to the hotel is a bit of a challenge with the suitcases. Breakfast for 2.50 euros which provided coffee/tea and toasted roll with crushed tomatoes, olive oil or jam is very tasty. The bed was a bit too hard and short for a 191cm bloke. Go to the visitor information centre to book a guide for El Torcal
A lovely town with attractions, plenty of restaurants and tapas bars. Good shops for shopping. New enjoyed the audio tour of the alcabaza at the top of the town, great photo opportunities for up there as well. We also took a trip to Lobo park just a short drive out of the town where we took the tour of the wolf sanctuary which was great I have never been so close to wolves they are quite amazing creatures, there are also other animals there to see as well, it was well worth the trip and very easy to find.

Stayed with family for one night only, it's a convenient located on the way between Malaga Airport and Cordoba. Great experience, cheap and cheerful. Everything is old but in good state, bed is comfortable, black out curtains, shower is hot and has a good pressure, windows overlooking rocks at the back (not a parking view and no noise), 24 hour reception, members of staff are very friendly and attentive. There's also a small market next to the entrance, the fruit and veg we bought there were fresh and tasty.

We stayed for 1 night in Antequera and really enjoyed the hotel. The building itself is beautiful and historic, but at the same time very comfortable. The staff are super friendly, we ate all our meals here, the restaurant is excellent and very well priced. The location is right in the centre of town but still very quiet, with a wonderful view from the balcony. The rooms are big with well equipped bathrooms.

This is a a lovely property, beautifully situated in the heart of old Antequera. It's ideal for sightseeing in the city, if a little difficult to find. Our welcome from Ana was extremely nice and that friendliness lasted throughout our stay We thoroughly enjoyed it and will recommend this hotel to our friends.

Centrally located in Antequera near the Alcazar and other historic buildings the hotel is itself of a traditional house design with a central courtyard area. Antequera is on the E4 Long Distance European trail and the GR7 path that I was walking. Pleasant English speaking lady on reception.

Loads of character. Kettle and infusions in room - amazing! First time in Spain and we've lived here 30 years. Also little bottles of water and fruit all for free. A nice touch. Food in restaurant bit pricey but worth it and great service.

A lovely hotel just outside of Antequera, with easy parking, grounds and a spa centre if you want to use it. Very good breakfast with a lot of fruit. Nice bar area inside and out, though inside it does have the traditional hanging ham legs!

Comfortable and serene, this hotel fitted the bill when arriving in Malaga late to stop over on our way to Seville. It’s a rambling, converted convent with unique rooms and decor.
