Tejeda is surrounded by great walks in complex scenery.
Tejeda is surrounded by great walks in complex scenery. The village is located in a giant 20km diameter volcanic caldera with many rocky ridges around. The historic village is lovely, with lots of public parking available. Do leave plenty of time to travel there though as the roads to get there are tortuous, narrow, winding and slow. Set high up in the mountains Tejeda provides fabulous views of the surrounding mountains and rock features. It is also a good base to explore the whole island and the towns and views it offers. The bars and restaurants offer a good range of Canarian dishes. Our balcony was very pleasant and roomy and we ate our breakfast out there and also sat out with glasses of wine in the evening. The view from our balcony was stunning. The apartment was clean and comfortable and we liked that a very interesting guidebook was left there for us to use.
