The manager was an absolute legend and was able to sort out a surprise gift for my partner prior to our arrival, communication was great throughout and made us very welcome! Despite the COVID scare etc.! Thanks a lot for the great stay :)

Carnforth lacks any real public interest other than the Railway Station where Brief Encounter was filmed. Pine Lake is an attractive resort if you simply want to chill out. We love the place and do not venture much into Carnforth. We do travel into the Lake District most days (approx 20 miles to Windemere)

Carnforth is a lovely place to stay to access the Lakes away from the actual madness of the Lakes. It is a short drive to the Lakes and well worth staying here for those reasons. The canal in Carnforth itself is lovely for a long walk and there were other places we would have liked to have visited, but our stay wasn't long enough.

Interesting railway heritage centre with very helpful volunteers. Good national and local supermarkets. Very easy place to get to other areas in the Lake district. Very good 'takeaways' in the area. Pleasant walks alongside the local canal.

Loved the hotel.
Loved the hotel. Picked the hotel quite randomly as we needed somewhere to break our journey home from the highlands of Scotland. Enchanted with the area. The staff and hotel were lovely. Seriously considering visiting the area again and staying at the same hotel or one of their sister hotels.

The town is not very big and has few amenities, ie restaurants, shopping etc. but it's location is excellent for visiting the southern Lakes, Yorkshire Moors, Forest of Bowland,, and the Lancashire coast of Silverdale and Arnside. Lots of good walking in beautiful scenery. The rail station has a good service and has regular trains along the Estuary to Grange over Sands and beyond. The station also has a heritage centre and a micro pub.

There’s nothing to do in carnforth itself but due everyone staycationing this year we were unable to get anywhere near the lakes to stay. As a base it was ok as long as you don’t mind driving for 1, 1-1/2 hrs to Keswick and the north / south lakes

The continental breakfast was sourced from local producers and was of a very high standard compared to ones we have experienced recently from large hotel chains. The Manager was so friendly and couldn’t be helpful enough and the village was really picturesque with gorgeous countryside around it. It was also extremely close to the M6 ( 3 miles) so really convenient for travelling but far enough away for thereto be no traffic noise and feel you were in the middle of the countryside.

We were given a choice of double room and opted for the bigger bed! It was well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast was very well cooked and there was a good choice. This is a family-run hotel and owner, wife and son are all extremely helpful and friendly. Even though they are undergoing extensive renovations, they were always cheerful - nothing was too much trouble.
