The cottage is set back from the main road so absolutely no traffic noise whatsoever. Comfortable beds. Clean. Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits provided. Lovely garden with chairs. Wifi was fine. Good value for money.

The location was convenient, right by the dual carriageway ready to head off early the next morning to the Dover Ferry Port. The staff were incredibly polite, friendly and helpful, 5 star service. We stayed in a family room, the sofa bed was a bit more comfortable, but otherwise the room had all the basics we needed. There was a continental breakfast when we got up at 6am, and they provided takeaway cups for the coffee. Overall I was really impressed and would stay again.

Just on edge of town so great for seeing everything and quite peaceful. Parking available for overnight guests. Superb room, dinner and breakfast delicious and staff amazing. Katie was brilliant - checked is in and showed us to room and then looked after us for dinner that evening- thank you!

    If it would be possible we would give the Smithy Cottage 11/10 rating! The owner Michelle takes care of the guests with with love and an extreme eye for detail. The welcome cookies, the shower soaps and the soft and fresh linen for the comfortable beds. There was plenty of information and tips for her guests. The location is superb on the old square of the charming village Chilham, opposite of the White Horse, very traditional pub and over 600 years old.

    Lovely location in the centre of Chilham village. The cottage itself is a charming historic building, full of character. The interior has been beautifully refurbished and is an exceptionally comfortable place to stay.
