Located in Dis in the Norfolk region, Best located and beautifully renovated cottage features a patio and garden views. Beautifully renovated cottage. We stayed for our godsons christening. The church was just around the corner and the town was just as close too. All facilities and rooms clean.
Located in Dis in the Norfolk region, Wingfield Escapes provides accommodations with free private parking. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a private bathroom. The safari tent is absolutely top notch! Simon and Danielle have really provided everything that you might need. It’s also the cosiest bed you will ever stay in. It was cold at night when we stayed but we had plenty of logs and the woodburner was going a treat! Super cosy :) They really cater for dogs too. Our golden loved it.
I was charmed by Diss. I chose Diss because it was not too far away but an unknown location, perfect for a short change of scenery. Diss is compact, with a beautiful mere and park area. Car parking is well provided and reasonably priced - we paid £1 per hour. Four hours would give the slowest walker time to see all there was to see as well as time to eat. Shopping is in small independent local shops, the Friday market well worth a visit and there are several good places to eat. Our favourite was up through the town to the Corn Hall, where a small outside courtyard provided both sun and shade and the best cappuccino in the area! Both food and service was faultless, but there were several other places we also enjoyed. I wouldn't hesitate to return to Diss and have no fault to find with this delightful market town.
It is close to my brother so I could visit him easily. But the village is spoilt by the heavy traffic that goes through the centre of the town detracting from the charming church and quaint town centre. The rural surrounds are most attractive and offer some lovely walks.
Friendly little Norfolk Market town steeped in local History. Some great pubs and a Husband friendly shopping area, with some quirky and unteresting shops. When I lived closer in Mildenhall used to visit the busy Auction House quite regularly, wher you used to see one of TV's Antiques programmes experts as an Auctioneer there.
I was on a business trip but the areas that I past through looked stunning with some lovely architectural buildings. I hope to return sometime soon and explore the region further and capture some great pictures of the buildings, country side and experience some of its history
So many shops closed. The road passing through diss is a complete nightmare. If I was not visiting family I would not visit here. Diss over the years used to be a much better place and I believe that adding three supermarkets has not helped. It can take on a bad day 25 mins to make it from the A140 out the other end.
The volunteers in the corn market gave us lots of information. It was lovely to have the parish church open but it would have been nice to have had a meeter and greeter. Enjoyed looking around the museum and the auction house was a treat especially as Elizabeth Talbot of Bargain Hunt fame was wielding the gavel. The sun shone and we were able to enjoy the baby ducks on the Mere. We also found shopping and eating was reasonably priced. Was disappointed with the Friday Market which according to the internet was a must but overall a very good two days.
Nice and helpful staff. Lovely place near town center.
