We visited the Caves and Walters Ash. High Wycombe centre itself was very clean and we had a meal at Bill's. Very nice but not enough food for the price you pay. Local pub near the Buckingham hotel was very nice and customers very friendly.
Visit Hughenden Manor former home of Disraeli. Use High Wycombe as a centre to visit the Chilterns and the Thames Valley and nearby country homes of Ministers of State, also the nearby home and museum of Roald Dahl.
I was here for a funeral so didn't use the town to any great extent , but I do know the area very well and the town has everything you need and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. My brother lives around the corner from the Malvern, so I ate with his family but we did use the Squirrel Pub (100 metres away) and the Three Horseshoes (Marlow) both do Rebellion beer and excellent meals. There is a handy bus route into town less than 100 metres away and High Wycombe has The Swan Theatre , two cinemas, and the Eden Centre with multiple eating and entertainment outlets.
high wycombe is a great place for it's own reasons such as the shops, restaurants and life of the town but also it boasts a great link with trains direct to marlybone station in london for fast access to the capital for day trips in without the hastle not to mention it's good to avoid driving in london aswell.
We went to the new Leisure Centre and swam, with more time we might have used the climbing walls. We had food from the coffee and sandwich bar, it was wasn't cheap but was very nice and there was a good selection. We went to the Rye and it was very pleasant, the outdoor lido looked good the water is heated. The children's play area is in good condition. We ate at the Chequers in Fingest, it was good but rather pricey. We did eat at the Premier Inn and the burgers were good, unfortunately, there was a delay as there was only one chef that night. We went to Marlow and Henley and surrounding areas, High Wycombe is not really picturesque, I was taking my grandsons to where I had lived and visited as a child. We may return to go to West Wycombe hill and caves and to spend longer near the river in various locations.
When going through Holiday Inn system to book don't waste time filling out requests, as these are not always read. Best to ring and speak direct. Our room was made up for a bigger family with an extra bed in it for some reason. Bathroom extractor fan was not working. Two guests booked in but one bathrobe and slippers set. Cigarette burn on window sill and curtain netting. For £120+, per night, I would have and have been better looked after. In saying all the above though the staff were helpful and the room quiet.

East to find hotel near main routes. I booked well in advance and asked for a ground floor room which we had and the bonus of a patio door to take the dog out if needed. The room was clean and the breakfast room spotless. Good continental breakfast with toast and eggs if wanted. Owner very friendly, pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is run down and tired and at £72.00 per night highly overpriced. My room was shabby with a broken window blind, no wardrobe door, dirty and stained carpet, the smallest TV possible. The whole experience was unpleasant. I stay in my hotels up and down the country and this is one that I will never use again.

I really liked the decor in the hotel and the room, the furniture was simple but well presented and the room was very clean. The ensuite shower room was spacious and well decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was ample parking and the breakfast was good value for money.

Nice and cozy. It’s a big house transformed into a hotel. Very warm and clean with large comfortable bed. Fantastic value for money. There is no reception or receptionist but the phone number to a host is provided. I had an issue with WiFi which was immediately resolved via text message!

The facilities were fair and certainly good value as the cheapest thing available. I did appreciate the replenishing tea and biscuits, so thanks for that.
