Magnificent hosts! Barbara and Richard made me feel like family and were so generous in sharing their countryside with me. The animals on the property are delightful to watch, as well. The Dovecote is beautiful inside and out and the views are incredible. This has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth and I cannot wait to return.

Having been to Devon & Cornwall quite a lot over the years we were looking to stay somewhere that was central so we could be in easily reach of all the amazing destinations Devon & Cornwall has to offer. If like us, you are planning to be travelling on your stay to Devon & Cornwall, West Moor View is in the perfect location for that. We can highly recommend this lovely property and the host's of the property, who made our stay a very pleasant experience.

The people of Launceston are champions for their helpfulness...

The people of Launceston are champions for their helpfulness and friendly advice, information and general banter. The small independent shops which are treasure troves of exploration. The black cat book shop is great to dip into with the legacy of destiny crystal shop only next door. Two vinyl record shops a small museum and the 16th century St Mary Magdalene carved stone church. Also the castle ruins with amazing scenic views not to be missed, These are just a few gems to be experienced in this special place. There is so much more.

Castle town that has seen better days.

Castle town that has seen better days. Very clean.hotel at side of castle walk through grounds into town. Town nothing special plenty of takeaways. I personally wouldn't stay there again, where I would go to lostwithiel again.

We think Launceston was closed for the winter.

We think Launceston was closed for the winter. Small town but very little was open in the town itself. We were not there as tourists so did not really matter. Maybe a lot better in the Spring/ Summer. Or as a base.

"The Hideaway" in Launceston is wonderfully quiet and offers a beautiful view of the Tamar Valley with its green fields and meadows. The landlady Julie gave us a very friendly welcome, provided us with information about the accommodation and the surrounding area and was always ready to help and advise us during our stay. The perfectly clean accommodation with a particularly nice bathroom and very well-kept furnishings offers a good starting point for excursions to both Cornwall and Devon.
