This hotel was so wonderful I stayed and extra two nights. The owner of the hotel and all the staff were so helpful and friendly. I felt completely at ease and looked after from the time I walked in the door. The hotel is situated next to a loch and canal (excellent for a stroll) and I had a beautiful view over the water and across to a castle on the further shore. The bed was so comfortable, the breakfast was excellent (served in a room overlooking the water), and there were two lounge areas with comfortable seating where you could sit and chat or read a book in complete comfort. The service was excellent without being at all intrusive and someone was always available if you had a question or wanted some local knowledge. And I have to mention the food in the restaurant. It was so good. Their specialty was local seafood and every dish was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful stay. Pod contained everything you would need. Great location, close to Lochgilphead, Ardrishaig, Crinan, Tayvallich. Restaurant / pub 2 minutes walk. Sheep grazing over the fence at the back. Standing stones within 2-3 miles. And the owners, Andrew and Iona, are friendly, engaging and available next door, if needed. Perfect.

Lochgilphead is not really a tourist town, but has everything you need for a short stay: Fishmonger (we liked the trout, but there is also locally-smoked fish) Butcher/greengrocer Health food shop that sells delicious bread from the Knapdale bakery Cafe 35, which is actually a takeaway but sells large slices of home baking for just 2.50 at the time of writing Community shop, which is a secondhand shop with an extensive music section Independent bookshop with some beautiful Scottish picture books, as well as local tourist information Co-op with a wide range of stock

Totally amazing, loved staying here . the best welcome I've ever had, such a lovely lady. The reception area is so qwerky, it was quite fascinating. The rooms were fabulous, there was a well deserved WOW from me, they were very well equipped with everything you could possible need, so much attention given to every detail. The dining room was also fascinating, again, so much attention paid to every detail, the breakfast was also top notch, top quality produce, along side all you could wish for ( cereals, fruit, yogurts ect,ect ) we were even offered more cooked breakfast ( just a shame we didn't have any room left ).

Unfortunately we were only there one night, but the town appears to have good facilities and resources for a longer stay. We were driving our own car and in the area to tour the Kilmartin valley. Lochgilphead would have been a much better choice for both nights than the switch we actually made.

The town is a great start for exploring the area.

The town is a great start for exploring the area. The high street has seen better days but some lovely buildings with a great view down the loch. With the Crinan canal a couple of minutes away, watching the boats transit is fascinating.

I've been to Lochgilphead a few times now and it's been on a decline since the first time we visited. It's a beautiful place but the amenities leave a lot to be desired. There's only one pub open now as to the four on our first visit. Limited places to eat and the place seems to close down after 5pm.

Janette and Bobby could not have been more hospitable nor more helpful during our stay. They provided lots of information about sights and eating out in Lochgilphead. The rooms were comfortable, stylish and well appointed. Clearly, much thought had gone into the planning, which included beverage-making facilities. There was ample parking and it was well located. The breakfast was a tour de force! It set me up for the day. I really enjoyed it and would go again.
