There is far too much to mention here. Roger and Sal are simply superb hosts. The breakfast was exceptional and so much to choose from, all 3 mornings offerings were tip top, even a croissant whilst we waited for the breakfast. The bedroom was excellent, bed was amazingly comfortable, and the bathroom... Just wow. Probably the best one I've used in years. The view from the front room/living room was extraordinary. There were numerous sets of binoculars to use to have a look. Roger (host) is very knowledgeable about what there is in front of you to look at. Even told us about the salmon cleaning that you could see out on the water. Wifi was strong and reliable, some great chilled out tunes were being played in the living area throughout the day and evening. Roger even booked us a table for our evening meal at a local hotel as we were running late due to traffic. Just a great couple who hosted, we lived the area and our time exploring it. Next time we are back in the area I really, really hope Corrie House has availability Simply Bravo!!!

it’s beautiful and quiet - off the beaten path. Although we arrived after 10 pm, which was long after check-in time ended, the staff graciously accommodated our late arrival and made sure we knew exactly where the key was, etc. they could not have been nicer. And breakfast was magnificent, with many options and basically however much, and whatever variety, you wanted.

The hotel is right in the center of town, our room was spacious with a sitting area that looks over the water through big windows. I would stay in this hotel again if we ever come back to Oban (which we would love to!). There's also paid parking right outside the hotel so it's convenient if you have a car. There's an elevator but it's one of those old Victorian elevators that has double doors that you need to close properly before elevator would move. We never used it, we just used the stairs but there's elevator if you have heavy luggage or if stairs is just hard. Staff on front desk was very friendly. Hotel has it's own bar but it was pretty empty when we were there.

What a well run hotel. The staff were efficient and the whole place was well managed. The room we had was a generous size with a super comfortable king size bed. It was warm and soundproof with a lovely view of Ben Lomond and the Loch. The room was carefully thought out with plenty of charge and power points. The bathroom was clean and modern with plenty of hot water. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent.

Oban is great the seafood is a must (try the sea-food shack by the ferry), there is a good range of shops from handmade jewellery and fine wool clothing to charity shops, whisky shops and outdoor shops. The distillery and hot chocolate café are worth a visit as is a walk up the hill or along the shore to the castle.

We have stayed here before and will do so again. The hotel could do with a coat of paint here and there but don't let that put you off - it is comfortable and represents good value for money in a very scenic area. Food is typical - nothing fancy but all good stuff and we have found the staff to be cheery and helpful.

I lived in Dunoon for two years 1963-65 and the return visit with my family sixty years later was bittersweet as I remembered the vibrant village of years ago and saw too many closed stores where I used to shop but that is the nature of change. Dunoon owns part of my heart. Best wishes to the leaders there to restore the best of it and lose the shabby shops along the main street. ❤️

It is a cute small village with some very nice local shops, as well as the usual (e.g. Costa coffee). The scenery nearby is stunning - We were blessed with fantastic weather. We took a local bus to Killancreggan (about 40 minutes) which has stunning views, a good pub which serves the best steak pie I've had in years. Excellent pizza on the seafront in Helensburgh - the pizzaiolo is from Naples and really knows what he is doing. Very pleasant staff and definitely a place worth eating at.

Kintyre is absolutely gorgeous - so beautiful, unspoilt, rugged and wonderful. Campbeltown used to be a little run-down but it was looking pretty good with lots of independent shops, two distilleries and a busy yacht harbour. Campbeltown is a good base if you need buses and amenities and for shopping in supermarkets.

We enjoyed our stay, the team were friendly, the hotel clean and the breakfast was tasty. The hotel welcomed the dogs and even gave them a sausage for breakfast, beds in the room and a treat awaited them at reception. It sits close to the shores so some good walks too. Stunning location with views across the sea to the mainland.

Stunning location with views across the sea to the mainland. It was very wet when we arrived but we still managed a windy walk along the promenade. There are a some very good cafes in the town, in particular The Kettledrum cafe, right on the prom where we had a very tasty lunch and a delicious cake! The Victorian Toilets, right by the ferry terminal, are also worth looking at (if not occupied!). Fabulous tiles and mosaic floor. We had a great circular walk from Rothesay the next day, along part of the West Island Way, to two of the inland lochs with distant views to the mountains of Arran. All in all a great little trip!
