Western Isles Hotel, hotel in Tobermory

Awarded "Island Hotel of the Year", choose to visit a hotel of real character with spacious rooms, world-class views, elegance and comfort.

We stayed here on our honeymoon and 10th anniversary and it was very nice but the upgrades to the rooms are amazing and it hasn’t lost its historic charm. Bed was amazing, rain shower incredible, food and service were top notch. We stayed in a terrace room which had a great sea view.

The Tobermory Hotel, hotel in Tobermory

Located in Tobermory, The Tobermory Hotel has a restaurant, bar and free WiFi throughout the property. The hotel features family rooms. All rooms in the hotel are equipped with an electric tea pot.

Right in the middle of the colored houses in Tobermory, right beside a beautiful church and across from the town dock and clock tower. What few restaurants and pubs on the Isle of Mull were within walking distance. There were many shops and a food store very close the the front door. It had a washer and full kitchen. It was self-catering which allowed us to get up early for walks along the beaches and to Carsaig Arches and such (10 hour walk, paths are treacherous in places... do not go if you are not in good shape).

Crannich Holiday Caravans, hotel in Tobermory

Offering garden views, Crannich Holiday Caravans in Killichronan offers accommodations and a garden. There's a private entrance at the resort village for the convenience of those who stay.

There's holiday caravans and then there's owners with passion. A three caravan site on a farm with owners that really have gone the extra mile. OK, the weather was terrible, but the location and the views were superb. Loads of wildlife, somewhere that I could stay for a week and just enjoy the location and setting. Great to see passion in their business. Thanks to Sam for being such a great host!

Attractive quiet town with a very pretty and clean sea front, the subject of many photographs. There is a lovely footpath from the seafront to the lighthouse, with wild garlic and bluebells on either side. Café Fish delicious but pricey. Do book in advance as it gets very booked up. The museum and shops are quite interesting but we felt we didn't want to spend longer than a night there. We loved the quietness, changing light, clear sea and very pleasant local people. If you stay on the ridge above the main street it is a steep hill to get back to your accommodation, so beware!

I was there for work so only for one night, but I will go back for a short break. The area is colourful and again I was lucky with the weather, the sun was shining and there were paddle boarders out in the water and kids on the small beach. The people are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. The local produce is fantastic so make sure you try some of the smaller cafes and stores for bread, pastries etc. There is quite a few restaurants so again try them.

As it was out of season, it was delightful, wouldn't want to go during high season, roads are very narrow, although there are plenty of passing places, which some visitors seem to ignore. Lovely island with amazing wildlife, worth a visit.

So much to do, visiting Tobermory Cheese Farm on Friday...

So much to do, visiting Tobermory Cheese Farm on Friday afternoon, Tobermoray Beach and Aros Park one day and Calgary Beach the next. Then Monday am an hour boat trip to learn about the local wildlife and history, followed by learning about whales in the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust shop where really knowledgeable helpers chatted about all things bones, teeth, shared books and showed lovely interest in our kids' interests. Going at Easter was perfect as it wasn't too busy and we were very lucky with the weather. Great base to explore Mull. I found driving around the island takes a lot of concentration!

Nice little town, mostly closed in January when we were there but that's to be expected in a holiday destination given the location and time of year. We went for the walks and scenery (both great) not shopping!

The b&b is a 25 minutes-walk from Tobermory, in a lovely quiet location. We traveled on foot and buses which was fine, although the buses on Mull seem a bit unreliable at times. Would recommend to be well organised and check connections etc. The b&b itself was very nice, clean and comfy, and the hosts friendly and accommodating. There was no phone signal at all around the property but we could use the landline to arrange bookings and the WiFi worked well. Bonus points for the cheese factory and biscuits factory next door!

Excellent fresh decor and cleanliness. Well equipped kitchen with washing machine. Comfortable large double bed and decent sofa bed with good bedding. Decent washroom with good shower and plenty of towels. Great location - short level walk to shops, pubs, restaurants, takeaways and Tobermory ferry terminal (this easy access to Kilchoan, Ardnamurchan). A good comfortable base with decent road connections from which to explore the more remote and less well equipped parts of Mull.

Beautiful hotel perched on top of a wee hill in Tobermory. Being up so high gave lovely views over the harbour and across the water. From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed. The room was great, lovely size and great views. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom had a great shower with toastie warm water. (Always a relief) We ate dinner in the restaurant. The food was lovely and a great selection for a gluten free diet. Breakfast 10/10. Would certainly return.

Location was fabulous! Easy walking to all the shops, restaurants and across the street from the harbor. Washing machine and drying rack. So great to be able to wash clothes after 10 days of traveling Loved the fact there were blackout shades in the bedroom! June in Scotland it is light out until after 11 pm and sun rises at 3:30 am, so appreciated being able to sleep in. Heated towel rack was great. Kitchen was fully outfitted.

Room was clean, bright and comfortable. Nice to have a fridge in the rooms. The food was very good, there was a varied evening menu with a couple of daily specials. The staff were happy and friendly. They worked very hard and did a good job. The hotel is located a few minutes walk up the hill so we had a lovely view of the harbour from our room. May be a problem for those who struggle walking uphill.

Arle Lodge was a great stay for our visit of the Isle of Mull. Its central location between Tobermory and Salen shortened distances to the main spots on the island. Its facilities are simple and functional. Everything being clean this was perfect for us. Also regarding the relatively very low costs, it was very good. The shared living room is a great space to hang out and meet other visitors.

This was a last minute booking and we were worried that we were arriving on e-bikes and there wouldn’t be a good place for us to store them. They staff was very nice and let us put our e-bikes in the back of the hotel without any problems! The location was perfect. Breakfast was very good and the shared spaces at the hotel were very comfortable, cozy and clean.

This was our best stay during our trip to Scotland. It is a beautiful and comfortable appartment with a great view of the tobermory harbour. The kitchen is large and equipped with everything you could need and the host provides you with some little goodies like milk and wine to welcome you.

Lovely hotel, great location and on-street parking opposite was easy to secure. Room was small but clean, bed comfy. Excellent restaurant but somewhat expensive. Menu was not changed during our 2-day stay, not an issue for us but would be if staying a week.

The breakfast was amazing, John carefully sourced out the very best of local farm fare. The B&B was within an easy walk of all the town had to offer. The room and en-suite were like being at home but better because we were on an island in Scotland.
