The Goil Inn sits at the head of Loch Goil, a fjord-type sea loch within the Loch Lomond National Park, only one hour from Glasgow Airport. Location beautiful-very peaceful. Very comfortable accommodation. Great meals - both dinner and breakfast. Staff super friendly and very helpful. Forever grateful for all assistance provided. Live entertainment a bonus on the night of our stay.
On the edge of Loch Goil, Rowan House B&B Rooms & A Self Catering Apartment enjoys the stunning surroundings of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Wow! What a truly gorgeous B&B… the location was in the heart of beautiful views; the house was tasteful, arty and interesting; the facilities were excellent and most of all Anna and Scotty, the hosts managed to find just the right balance of help and guidance while also ensuring we had the space we needed to relax and unwind… a special experience all round! We will return, in gratitude, Angela and Cameron.
Located on the beachfront in Lochgoilhead and boasting a garden, Carrick Farm has free WiFi throughout the property. Everything was perfect. Rooms were very tidy and cosy, breakfasts absolutely amazing and the owners really welcoming. Would definately recomend to everyone.
Facing the beachfront in Lochgoilhead, Lochwood Guest House features a shared lounge and a garden. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. The breasfast was great- everything what we wanted. The location is FANTASTIC! And the service provided was amazing. Great wee places around the house, a bird coner, the cabin with fantastic veiw and comfortable chairs....
We loved our accommodation most of all as we could revel in the beautiful views without interruption. The proprietors were so welcoming and so helpful, needed nothing more. We were surrounded by walks from easy flat going to more arduous hill climbing. We took the easy options as we were neither equipped or interested in anything more. In house meals were fantastic but there were other easily accessible venues nearby. Alas, the weather was warm and dry so we never got to see the loch looking anything other than bright and sunny. Maybe next time.
The village is really pretty, built along the banks of the loch. The mountains rise steeply around making it a most picturesque location. Walks around the loch and the village are mainly on the level. The road into the village and the nearby holiday centre is single track with passing places, but it is quite busy and you meet some rather large vehicles coming the other way. We would visit again, but would stay at one of the B&B’s NOT the Drimsynie Hotel.
I brought an inflatable kayak with me and all the family including grand children had a great time on the loch, the weather was great although the road in from Rest and be thankful had my wife feeling sick, but once ther, a great location.
The scenery is breathtaking. The journey on the single track road to get there is interesting and challenging. Lochgoilhead is small and easy to walk around. There are only 2 places to eat or drink and that is in the Drimsynie estate or in the Goil Inn, however the restaurant in the Goil Inn was closed! The Goil Inn is part of the Drimsynie Estate.
Wonderful area to visit in Scotland. Stunning scenery and lots of outdoor pursuits. Well worth visiting other Lochs in the area. Loch Lomond, Loch Fyne, Loch Eck. Benmont Botanical Gardens, Pluck’s Glen gorge walking, Inveraray, Carrick Castle to name but a few. Highly recommended
Superb location, probably one of the best in Scotland. Good room, large and in nice condition with good bathroom. Good quality breakfast included Dinner food was gastro pub style but very good and not expensive for a hotel. Generous portions. Superb view from restaurant. Service was ok, also about the same as a pub meal I will definitely use again but note, it is in a remote location which is great unless you want the bright city around the corner!!
It was so fresh, clean and tastefully decorated. Every detail was thought of to give that home from home feel! Especially liked the basket of treats on arrival! Rooms were large and spacious and ample storage areas for unpacking clothes etc. Wood burner looks like it would be lovely and warm in the winter but weather was too mild to try it out. Loved that our 2 little spaniels were welcomed they also enjoyed the place ( I think) plenty hot water and a lovely shower!
