Southport has some of the most fantastic Victorian buildings...
Southport has some of the most fantastic Victorian buildings of anywhere I've been in England. Anyone interested in architecture, it's a must. As with all these places some parts are a bit tired, but you can imagine what it once would have been. There's some nice Bars up the top end of Lord Street, which is the main broad Avenue, with an exceptional Korean restaurant, The Korean Kitchen - absolutely fantastic. Southport is a lovely place to visit . We really enjoyed our stroll along Lord street and it was a nice atmosphere with lots of cafes, bars , and people enjoying food and drinks outside, Large selection of places to eat Chinese , Indian , mexican good old fish and chips , and we found a beautiful place that did the most amazing afternoon tea. They need to get the pier back open.
They need to get the pier back open. There is plenty to do for the kids. But when I used to visit when I was younger the shops on lord street were the best. All very elite. Even the few charity shops. It’s now so upsetting to see them all shut up . I know it’s like a lot of places. But this is a seaside place with lots of visitors. We have visited Southport on many occasions and really...
We have visited Southport on many occasions and really enjoyed it, but this time we had our pet dog with us and were very disappointed with the lack of dog friendly shops and cafes on Lord Street, The area needs a good tidy up as there was a lot of litter around. Didnt get to the beach as the weather had been really rough for a couple of days into our holiday. There are plenty of buses around if you rely on public transport and the rail station is in the town centre.
