The manager went out of his way to help us. We arrived late and missed supper but were allowed to eat our sandwiches in the bar with a glass of wine. The next day we had to leave early for an appointment and were able to eat a quick early lunch. The hotel was a charming old building. The beds were comfortable, bathroom clean, towels provided. The town of Biggar is delightful with alleys running between the buildings up the hill. All staff very friendly and helpful and. We wish we had an excuse to come back.

Loved the location in a park just a few minutes from the main street. The breakfast was delicious, in a lovely dining area set around the workings of the old mill. I was there for a wedding and family members were jealous of accommodation and breakfast compared to their B&B on the main street. Also our host was very relaxed about check in and breakfast times.

We were there to meet up with friends was ideal for a short visit and the area was handy for Biggar a couple of miles up the road which is very interesting Symington it’s self does not have much and the hotel is on a hill just off the main road

Symington is not somewhere you would rate. Staying in the hotel and visiting Symington would not normally occur in the same sentence i.e. while you might want to stay in the hotel you would never think of visiting Symington - there is nothing to see.

What a golden nugget! We booked this hotel as left it too late to get any where in Edinburgh for the Taylor Swift show, the reason we booked this hotel was the price and it’s only 50 mins from Edinburgh! This hotel is incredible value for money, the room was spotless, the bathroom was lovely and the bed was so comfortable, I could tell it had recently undergone refurb and I just want to say well done on design, comfort and value for money!

The location was good and the hotel had been updated since our last visit. Sadly the breakfast was not good. The hot dish had been made well in advance of our ordering and had obviously been left in a heater, I felt that the hotel wasn't so busy that the breakfast could not have been freshly made to order.
