The manager went out of his way to help us. We arrived late and missed supper but were allowed to eat our sandwiches in the bar with a glass of wine. The next day we had to leave early for an appointment and were able to eat a quick early lunch. The hotel was a charming old building. The beds were comfortable, bathroom clean, towels provided. The town of Biggar is delightful with alleys running between the buildings up the hill. All staff very friendly and helpful and. We wish we had an excuse to come back.

A beautiful hotel in a stunning location. The room was nice, spacious, clean and nicely furnished. The bed was also very comfortable, and we were provided with a kettle, tea and coffee. We also had dinner which is served till 8:30, and the meal was delicious. The breakfast was great as well and with a variety of options. We also had the opportunity to go for a walk nearby with breathtaking views of the river and the Falls of Clyde. Highly recommended.

We were there to meet up with friends was ideal for a short visit and the area was handy for Biggar a couple of miles up the road which is very interesting Symington it’s self does not have much and the hotel is on a hill just off the main road

Symington is not somewhere you would rate. Staying in the hotel and visiting Symington would not normally occur in the same sentence i.e. while you might want to stay in the hotel you would never think of visiting Symington - there is nothing to see.

Robes and slippers were a nice touch. Room was spotless and bed was comfy! Dinner was lovely! Honestly really nice and breakfast was spot on! We were a group of 13 of us and the piano was a lovely touch as we all had a sing song. Staff were so friendly! Cannot remeber their names, I think one was June (short hair at dinner) and younger woman with long black hair. Both honestly trested you and spoke to you like family, had great chat and made the night! They are a credit to the hotel.

I love this quirky hotel in the magical countryside of South Lanarkshire. Decor and furnishing choices in the rooms can be a bit strange, but all the better after the endless Holliday Inns and other chains. The staff are real people, each of them different, and there is a bit of a buzz about the place that the coach parties add to rather than spoil. The Grand Staircase with the stained glass is straight out of Agatha Christie. Go Tinto !

The property was clean throughout. The rooms were modern and well equipped. The rest of the hotel was nicely decorated and had plenty of charm and character. Great selection at dinner and breakfast. The food was cooked to perfection and tasted great! The staff were helpful and friendly.
