Our ferry trip back home was cancelled and rebooked to the next day. After calling the lodge service desk we were able to extend our stay by a day last minute and without issues, and even got our genious discount for the extra day as well. The hosts were very friendly and the bar/sitting room was pleasant with most guests searching a social evenings-end there.

The room was adorable. We looked out onto the church and it was quiet. We did not eat at the hotel as both mornings we had to be on the road quite early. The staff was great.

The whole building is very beautiful. The rooms are so beautifully decorated. And we got an upgrade, which was a big surprise. The location is perfect. You can walk in 10 minutes to the town center. Breakfast was excellent. Staff absolutely very kind and friendly. They do the uppermost!

Location is 5 star and a very short walk to the centre of the old town with the old town wall direction opposite the hotel. The room was spacious and well equipped with very comfortable beds. The buffet breakfast had everything you would want. Staff were really friendly and helpful. I would definately choose to stay again.

The reception area big and bright and clean, the room comfy and clean (a 2nd armchair would have been appreciated) bathroom on the small side but clean and functional. Bed VERY soft but comfy, pillows plentiful. Restaurant food and staff AMAZING. Nothing too much trouble, food delicious and well priced. Good selection of drinks and cocktails.

The staff are really friendly and helpful. The room was super with plenty of space and a lovely comfy bed. We even had a view of the Minster. Marvellous. Oh and the toiletries were top-notch too. Breakfast was a feast which kept us going for hours!

It was accessible to the city centre and conference venue.

Perfect hotel with outstanding breakfast

The breakfast was excellent, as was the room and leisure center could not fault the hotel at all. Staff were extremely professional and very nice .Had dinner one night with family and was excellent. Will Definitely stay again.

The location is fantastic, a few minutes walk from the station. The rooms are modern and comfortable. Great that Taylors sachets of tea and coffee are left in the room - a nicd touch.

Our 3rd time at the Bootham Tavern and another great stay. Excellent location too

Staff were so lovely to me and my son . Sam welcomed us as we arrived early and looked after our bags. Later Ben showed us our amazing room. The room was so comfortable , spacious. Nice touches too like the fresh milk for coffee in the morning. A sleeep spray which my son thought was a magic spray the helped him sleep! Jackelyn found my charger for me and emailed me to let me know so I picked it up as we were leaving York. We had breakfast early and didn’t get tje waitresses name but she organised a take away box so we could bring some food with us. Ambience of the hotel is gorgeous. Beside the beautiful museum gardens. 7 minute walk from train station. 5 minute walk to Shambles Minster 4 minute walk. . But really everywhere around hotel is fabulous. We ended ip doing some shopping and it was so easy to just pop back to hotel and drop our things instead of feeling laden doen . We will return . Thank you to all the staff that we met and of course we didn’t meet who made our whirlwind stay so lovely.
