Many families visiting Wareham loved staying at The Bear Hotel, The Priory Hotel, and Rudds of Lulworth.
Loved the quaintness of Wareham. Really is a beautiful village. Ideal for hiking and cycling holidays. Just found the service in local pubs and restaurants not up to standard, staff weren't particularly friendly and engaging.
Bustling town in summer and when the weather is hot. Its a good spot as a central place to stay as there is a lot to see within a fairly small area, castle, steam train, RSPD nature reserve, Beeches, walking, TE Lawrence connections, cycle trails, boats on the river Frome. There are lots of things to do in the area.
The Quay area on the river, and interesting country walks along the river frome bank. Good local butchers and a fine pub in the Granary. The effigy of Lawrence of Arabia in St Martins not to be missed (allegedy key in the drapers shop if church is closed). About 1045 hours just before communion service every Wednesday will gain you access. Take a cup of tea with Dorset apple cake in the seat that Lawrence used to sit at in the Anglebury Inn. Close to Bovington Tank Museum, Corfe Castle, Swanage beach and NT Cloud Hills.
Wareham is a lovely twn. Full of history. Very near to other attractions. Ie. Monkey world. Well worth a visit. Swanage. Beautifull proper seaside town. Great day out. Parking in wareham can e a problem but fine when you work out where car parks are. And they are affordable.. Overall wareham is a great place to visit..we have been several times and are looking forward to returning.
Was just right size for our stay with a few local pubs and restaurants which are all within a walking distance. No issues looking for food or drink as local takeaways a plenty and a nice small place to explore
Wareham is full of history. You can walk right round the old castle walls. The churches are really interesting. The town sits on the river Frome & the quay is a beautiful setting with pubs, restaurants & boat trips. Poole, Corfe Castle, Swanage & its steam train & Brownsea Island are all close by. We would recommend eating at the Italian Kitchen. Wonderful service & food.
The owner has taken great care to make you feel welcome. The house is so clean and comfortable and kitted out to a high standard, all essential items are supplied eg condiments, cleaning products etc. Milk for a cuppa when you arrive. The property is within walking distance of Wareham common and the town which really is lovely with lots of places to visit around and about. I found the owner very friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend.
Loved the location, nicely appointed flat, friendly welcome. Felt very comfortable and the owner had accommodated for the fact there was an issue getting oil for heating by putting in two electric heaters that worked very well. Liked feeling in the middle of nowhere while only being a few minutes away from Wareham. Enjoyed having the sheep outside the door and the little seating area outside would be lovely in the warm weather.

Tina couldn’t have been more welcoming and her breakfasts were fantastic, even served at a time suitable to us and our plans. The lodge is in a fantastic location, close to the beautiful towns of Wareham and Swanage, and fully stocked with absolutely everything you need, even a phone charger! If you want to escape and get away to a relaxing area, this is the break for you.
Friendliness of staff on arrival - as I arrived by motorbike and sometimes do not get the best of receptions but staff were lovely. The room was better than expected as I am used to staying in London and having worked in the hotel industry was wary of my expectations.
Next to Wareham forest with lovely walks and good for snake spotting. Beds were very comfortable. Welcome hamper was a nice touch. Garden and parking facilities were good. Overall we had a good week and explored the area and enjoyed our stay.
A lovely traditional country house style hotel. Comfortable rooms, lovely gardens next to the river. Delicious breakfast, tea and dinner.
Very nice hotel with friendly staff. The breakfast was delicious and the location is a great spot in Dorset area.
