All beaches were clean and tidy. Enjoyed by the locals, often staying past sundown. Lots of tavernas to enjoy. Short walk to 2 supermarkets if needed, well stocked. Kato Daratso is a lovely beach location a couple of kilometers outside Chania centre which you can walk into along the beach in 15/20 minutes or take the bus which stops every 15 minutes at the top of the road and takes you in in 5 minutes for €1.20. The Theodosi restaurant is highly recommended. There are a number of supermarkets and pharmacies in the area. Vivid village with plenty of of restaurants and shops, even Lidl. There is car rental and also travel agency as well, in case you want a book an excursion. The beach is super sandy and there is surf/SUP rental. We find it clean,comfortable and convenient for what we need. It’s easy to get into the centre of Chania on the 21 bus but is in a quiet location with a choice of nearby beaches. Okeanis II is an annexe to Okeanis Hotel (where breakfast is served). It’s beautifully appointed and has a lovely pool. The staff are lovely and the whole place is very professionally run.
