The room, featuring high ceiling for a sense of spaciousness, was very clean and comfortable, and had a balcony. The beds struck the perfect balance between comfort and support, and the air conditioning worked flawlessly. The family run hotel had a unique, relaxing vibe, and was very quiet. I felt my visit was genuinely appreciated. This isn't a place where they try to cram as many people per square meter as possible - you can truly breathe here. It completely exceeded my expectations for a three-star hotel. The breakfast was basic yet satisfying, with the Greek yogurt nicely paired with fresh fruits and honey. A special mention goes to the eggs, which came from hens raised right on the property. Aside from the relatively simple breakfast, this hotel offers a four-star experience. With only ~20 rooms, the wonderful pool is never packed with people. The large parking area is shaded in the morning, preventing the car from heating up. This place had everything I needed for my stay on Crete and served as a great base for traveling around, especially to the southern beaches which are just a 30-40 minute drive. Highly recommended.

The place is very quiet. It is a couple.of minutes away from the beach through a nice steet. The swiming pool is nice and not crowded. Terraces are spacious as well as the apartment itself. I didnt't expect the place to be so spacious. The girl who works there is very polite. If you need something, all you need to do is ask.

Gold Apartments are situated in a prime spot, offering both comfort and convenience. The location is excellent, with the beach just a short walk away. Our apartment was modern, well-maintained, and had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen and a balcony with a beautiful view of the sea. We appreciated the free parking, which made getting around easier. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, offering great recommendations for places to visit. We'll definitely stay here again!

    Tourist destination, really close to the main city of Rethimno, without the hustle and bustle of the city. And with plenty of car parking! Really nice for summer holidays, having the beach near and everything somenone may need, such as mini markets, breakfast cafés, souvenir shops.

    It is typical resort town, with lots of shops, grocery supermarket, taverns, also there is a good drugstore. The downsides are very narrow sidewalks and crazy motorcyclists day and night, like everywhere in Greece.

    An excellant resort with wide choice of tavernas and bars to suit all pockets. Lots of tourist shops , car rentals and excursions available The beaches are easily accessible and pool bars are plentiful and free to use if you buy drinks/food. It’s a very friendly resort great for families as many places have child pools or playing areas Everywhere is easily accessible on foot but there is a good regular bus service or car hire is easy to arrange

    Lovely town and not changed too much over the years I have been visiting. Lots of restaurants, tour companies and souvenir shops. Good bus service into Rethymno. Beach is a bit stony, so beach shoes were required. Plenty of water activities for the kids (and adults) on the beach

    This was the second time my wife and I have been to Platanes. We went for the first time a few years ago and thought it was about time we went back. We enjoyed our visit then but this visit was even better. There is a variety of accommodation available from luxury 5 stars hotels to small apartments and a great variety in between. Many residences have pools but there are golden beaches within a short distance of the main strip and many have tavernas and bars. The main strip has many places to eat and drink and prices are very reasonable. Crete has a great cultural heritage and there are plenty of trips which can be taken. The weather was wall to wall sunshine

    Breakfast was wonderful a good selection of hot and cold options. The breakfast staff and reception team were warm smd welcoming. The poolside bar service for both drinks and food was a slow. The pool roof terrace was beautiful overlooking the sea. We loved the beach bar directly in front of the hotel for lunch. Great service here and family run. Its not part of the hotel but it certainly added to our stay. Rooms kept clean. I would say the pool towels were rather small but we had our own so not a big issue. A wonderful hotel in a great location.

    The well designed rooms, adorned with tasteful decor, offered a perfect blend of comfort and aesthetics. The cleanliness was impeccable and the room facilities, such as a huge bed and towels, reflected attention to guest satisfaction. Also in this amazing hotel they served boasted delicious cuisine, while the courteous staff and kind 24-hour reception enhanced the overall experience. Strongly recommended.

    Everything was awesome. Very kind and helpful owner Maria, great breakfasts, Jacuzzi on balcony, heated swimming pool on top floor, cleanliness. Parking places for car just under hotel. Supermarket and Tavern's in neighborhood. Well deserved 10/10 !
