Muralta is a great place to stay, clean, comfortable, with a perfect location, however, the best thing about Muralta are the hosts. They are very friendly, open to help and give you recommendations. Onofrio, one of the hosts, was extremely kind in giving me several recommendations about restaurants not only in Altamura, but also about the next cities I was going to visit. Loved Altamura as a stop. This apartment was comfortable and spacious, with plenty of hot water. Comfy bed and couch. The host dropped off extra pillows for us upon request. Screens on the windows, so we could have them open without worrying about mosquitoes. Loved the ceilings and the entry. Quiet and central.

Rachel is hands down the most outstanding host on this entire trip to Italy this year. I like a smooth impersonal check-in and check-out; but meeting someone so precious and REAL as Rachel gives the trip an additional dimension. Truly a salt of the earth lady, if I may say so. Suffice it to say, the rooms and the whole place are impeccable, the location couldn't more central for our interests in history and culture. And Rachel is an exquisite cook! In a city with Santa Caterina bakery (since XIV century) and Tortorelli Grill that's saying something! Mille grazie, cara Rachel.

Maria and Angela and Susha were wonderful! They made us feel comfortable and welcome. Even though we arrived very late, Maria was on hand to greet us and made check in easy. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The food made by Angela was all fresh homemade and exceeded our expectations. She took time to tell us about each item and shared how it was made. Both she and Maria spent time talking to us and telling us about themselves and DonnaPaola. Maria is an artist and while you are there, be sure to look for her sculptures. The rooms also have her work as part of the decorations. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The views are stunning. It is peaceful and quiet. We will be sure to come back and stay longer.

Beautiful, modern within, yet maintains its medieval heritage and beauty from the outside. It’s a quiet neighbourhood. The BnB is in an excellent location right behind the Duomo- the centre of town. Walk everywhere. Many restaurants and bars nearby. Angelo the owner offers “over and above” service. He makes sure that you are comfortable and have everything you need. He communicates through WhatsApp. I am grateful that Angelo made himself available to pick me up upon arrival at the train station as well as drop me off at the end. Each room is unique in his house. My unit was on the third floor, had an excellent air conditioning and mini fridge. I enjoyed my stay very much.

Beautiful old town with typical cafes in the cathedral...

Beautiful old town with typical cafes in the cathedral square and lots of verdant courtyards and narrow alleys all built of shining white limestone. Excellent museum very close to the old town with an exceptional anthropological section. Most places were a short walk from our accomodation including an excellent restaurant. Driving was a nightmare because of the manic one-way systems and flashing orange traffic lights.

Altamura is place full of life.

Altamura is place full of life. Every evening people of all ages are out enjoying a stroll or an aperitivo. It is very lively, suitable for families travelling with older teenagers who are usually bored in the evenings. Food is amazing. It is also very conveniently placed between Bari (beautiful bigger city with an old town, beautiful promenade and lots of shops ) and Matera , the so-called stone city, the oldest city in Italy, a must-see.

Very quaint city.

Very quaint city. Took tour of Caseificio Di Cecco and Panifico Di Gesu and loved it very much.Had supper at Baby Di Cecco for wine and cheese tasting at the Mercadente Forest- Yum! Old city is beautiful.Had lunch at oldest bakery- notice Forno Santa Caterina and it was great ! should visit!

Atamura was impressive for a small town of 75000 people to...

Atamura was impressive for a small town of 75000 people to the big city feel, I loved the restaurants and the bread and focaccia, the traditional food was out of this world no matter witch restaurant we went. I loved that there's people out until 2:00 am and felt safe walking around the city the people were friendly and helpful I would recomment and stay in Altamura again.

Beautiful town, lovely old cathedral and historic town centre. Tourists tend to visit Matera that is 40 minutes away, and shops/bars/restaurants etc in Altamura shut from lunchtime for a few hours, so visits need to be planned when all is open. Lovely bakeries which sell regional breads/pastries. Public transport services seem good, but we hired a car. Very friendly locals.

I can not praise this appartament enough. Every little detail has been thought of. This place is amazing, very spacious, well equipped. Complimentary teas and coffe, olive oil and spices. Shower gels and shampoos, even toothbrushes if you forget your own. Slippers. Good aircondition, only in bedrooms but strong enough for all place to feel pleasant.
