Offering city views, a bar and free WiFi, B&B Le Residenze is located in Altamura, 29 miles from Teatro Margherita and 29 miles from Bari Cathedral. Spacious and clean apartment with a fantastic location. The host was super friendly and gave us great recommendations.
A nice Italian city with a historic vibe. Easy to reach all main locations by foot. Parking is a bit problematic in certain hours of the day, but there is an option to park for free in the white-line areas. The city is a good starting point to explore Matera and the nearby region. Streets can be loud at nights, because a lot of bars and restaurants are working late. Great for a few-day trip in the Northern region of Puglia.
Altamura is a walled hill town with an air of past and present prosperity. It has good transport links for example to Matera. The Duomo is very beautiful, its Piazza shows it off superbly. The city is well paved, both the Corso and many side streets. The passeggiata is a lovely time of a summer evening. Mass in the Duomo is well attended. Altogether it seems a city proud if its culture and at ease. The museum of Altamura Man, concerning human remains 150000 years old, is not to be missed.
The navigation is not working at the old town, you will deffinately get lost or scratch your car. When we finally arrived an agressive man came out from his car, screaming on italian probably about that we took his parking place even if we were 10 mins before him there with lighs turned on and waiting for a place. At the end he hitted our car, which was rent a car and I wanted to call the police but he left.
Loved the old town! Enjoyed a lot walking around, discovering little architectural gems. The old restaurants are charming. Food delicious - pizza and pasta galore. Walking around is fun, driving around something you need to get used to. Seems like everyone is looking for a parking place at the same time! Activities - eating, drinking coffee in small cafes. It is a great base to explore other places - Matera, Castel del Monte.
Really worth to visit, very close to Matera but much cheaper. People there are very sympathic and helpful. If you'd like to exercise Your Italian it's perfect place - easy free contact with people and you really feel they're not focused on profit. Next time I'll surely stay there for few days
It was a great idea to actually stay in Altamura. We were visiting Matera which is 30 min drive from Altamura and we booked b&b in Altamura. We were really suprised what a nice city it is. I don't know if I'd recommend it for a longer stay but for one day with a 2-3 hours walk and a dinner in the old town it is just great.
B&B is located in the new residential are on the outskirts of the city, especially recommended for guests traveling with their own car. Location is an strategic starting point for visiting nearby towns and attractions. The hosts provided us with all necessary information including tickets for a guided visit of Matera. On breakfast we particularly appreciated traditional bread, local pastries, home-grown fruit and of course, an excellent cappuccino.
Amazing hosts, lovely house, big garden, great place to stay if you want to be in the nature and feel the hospitality of Italian people! Delicious homemade breakfast! Not far from Altamura by car for diner! I strongly recommend if you want to feel at home! Thanks for our stay
The flat is tidy and large: with three rooms, it is ideal for a family. It is located in the outskirts of Altamura, 15 mins by car from Matera, so it is a viable option to staying in the more expensive Matera.
A great accommodation in the heart of altamura. Everything you need and much more with an exquisite attention to detail. Clean and well equipped. Warm welcome from the owner margherita. Highly recommended!!!!
The apartment is brand new, nice decorated, close to the centre of Altamura, which is a great place to stay when visiting Matera. The breakfast is served in pasticceria nearby which serves delicious pastries.
Right in the historical center of Altamura! Very quiet, well furnished mini apartment. Very good Italian Breakfast at the bar nearby. Free parking on via Genova, 3 minutes walking.
