We loved Cefalu, but went when the weather was hot and the humidity made it feel even hotter. My preference would be to visit in slightly cooler months. That said there is a lot of restaurants and bars to choose from in Cefalu, plenty of shops too.

Very busy and touristy, and tricky to know where to park if driving into the city. Not much that’s authentic or cultural, with such a busy tourist strip / area. Main beach in the city was very crowded. I’d suggest staying outside and driving in, but work out where to park before hand.

Cefalu is very touristy and is a somewhat idealistic projection of Sicily, but we went there on the last day of our holiday and wished we had booked at least a day longer. The Cathedral is a must, the beach idillic and the restaurants and food we tried excellent and very reasonable. lots of little nooks and crannies to explore in the village, and the option for more adventurous exploration, if you can stand the heat! Cefalù was a beautiful little seaside town, nice restaurants and bars. Friendly people and very clean. I stayed in the Old Town and it was easy access to the train station, supermarket, restaurant, attractions and the beach!

We walked everywhere! Walking along the paths in the rocks by the ocean was magnificent and climbing our way up to the castle - a very worthwhile challenge!
