It's such a nice little place with nice bar and shops in the neighbourhood, beautiful churches and view on the mountains. It's a very strategic place because you can reach all the places to visit in less than an hour (the mountains of Gran Sasso and the Maiella, the sea, beautiful towns like Sulmona, L'Aquila, Chieti and all the little places in the mountains during hiking (Caramanico Terme, Passo San Leonardo, Roccacaramanico, Pescocostanzo, Palena, Casoli in the Maiella and Bussi, Capestrano, Bominaco and Rocca Calascio). And everywhere we found nice bars and exceptional good food in the local restaurants.

Popoli is a beautiful historic town surrounded by national...

Popoli is a beautiful historic town surrounded by national and regional parks with crystal clear water and friendly people. It is well situated, being 30-45 minutes from the Adriatic sea and 30-45 minutes from ski areas in the mountains. Local food is very good and there is a Michelin listed resturant in the historic center. If that is not enough, there is also a thermal spa that provides various treatments for respiratory and skin helath. Oh, and there is a castle on the hill.

There is a nice riverside walk and park just outside the town. Not too many places to eat but we had a superb meal at Magnoz pizza, within the TreMontil Hotel about 10 minutes walk away. The town looks best at night, with lots of places lit up

Loved Popoli.

Loved Popoli. The town is a true hidden gem of "real small town true Italy feel". The location of Popoli is great. You are close to beautiful mountains, beautiful lakes, and beaches. You can visit many small towns in Abruzzo as well.

We went to the Conad grocery store for snacks and wine.

We went to the Conad grocery store for snacks and wine. Google the directions. Restaurants in Popoli close from 1 or 2pm until 7:30 or 8pm. If you like an early supper, you will have trouble. They do have ready made sandwiches and pizza at the Conad to hold you over. N to a big town but big enough. Restaurants that Paula suggested were very good. Reservations are often needed.

Room located in the low floor of the house of the family who owns it, which are very kind and friendly. The house is next to the hot springs of Popoli, with lovely views (where you have breakfast) to the castle and town. The room is quite spacious and the restroom too, clean and nice. Outside you can meet a dog and cats that are super cute and friendly! You can park the car in front of the house. The breakfast was abundant and very good.

The hotel is located right in the heart of Popoli, making it a fun cultural experience. The interior is recently renovated, with respect to traditional Italian design. Everything was clean and organised. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful! Ilaria gave us some great tips about the area; also, she kindly reached out to us when it turned out that we’d left a personal item at the hotel. Overall a wonderful stay!

Remembered this hotel from my childhood and wanted to stay here. Great location. Next to villa and centre of town. Breakfasts were excellent, with lots of choice. Francesca was very helpful and friendly.
