Relais La Ghinghetta, hotel in Portoscuso

Facing the beachfront, Relais La Ghinghetta offers 4-star accommodations in Portoscuso and has an outdoor swimming pool, terrace and bar.

The breakfast was great, they made us an afternoon salami and cheese platter upon request. It is a very private boutique style hotel. We only stayed one night and would stay 2 nights the next time. After 8 days on the island, it was one of our favorite stays.

B&B L’Albero Dei Limoni is located in a 19th-century building in Portoscuso, just 1640 feet from the beach. It offers rustic air-conditioned rooms with light-wood furniture and free Wi-Fi.

Giuseppe was an exceptional host. He helped us plan things to see and places to eat. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The large kitchen living area and patio were completely at our disposal. Did I mention his mom's baking and the breakfast spread? I'd give it 6/5.

Housed in a historic building, Moon's Tower suite&rooms features accommodations with a shared lounge and free Wifi in Portoscuso, a few steps from Spiaggia Sa Ghinghetta.

A beautiful place with a unique layout. The decorations added to the atmosphere. The whole interior was warm and inviting. We appreciated the easy self check-in. The breakfast buffet was great and our hostess was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Location was very good as it was convenient to restaurants and parking. You should definitely consider staying there if you’re in Portoscuso. We wish we could have stayed longer.

I Ginepri B&B, hotel in Portoscuso

Featuring free Wi-Fi in all areas, I Ginepri B&B is in a peaceful location in Portoscuso. There is also a garden where guests can relax. All the rooms have basic furnishings, including a wardrobe.

The breakfast was the star of my stay. It was a typical Italian breakfast--pastries and espresso--but the pastries were flaky, abundant, and fresh and the selection of marmalades was delicious. Starting the day in the shade of a lemon tree, in a quiet interior courtyard with orange, peach, and lemon marmalade alongside golden croissants and rich coffee was delightful. The room was very clean, comfortable, and had its own AC unit. The private bathroom wasn't en suite, but it was large, well-furnished, and (like the bedroom) impeccably clean. Gloria and Paolo were friendly, hospitable, and very welcoming hosts. Gloria also speaks excellent English, for those who are maybe taking a break from practicing their Italian. The neighborhood is quiet, calm, and there's plenty of street parking. The B&B is walking distance to the beach, which is convenient if you're hoping to avoid paying for parking. It is outside the center of town, so you'll need to walk ~10 minutes to get to dinner/gelato/nightlife.

Portoscuso is a wonderful town that's still off the beaten track in Sardegna. It has several beautiful beaches in walking distance, a Michelin listed restaurant, and is a perfect jumping-off point for Carloforte, Sant'Antioco, the Santa Barbara trail, and many other adventures!

Portoscuso is a nice small town of tuna fishermen.

Portoscuso is a nice small town of tuna fishermen. Offers a promenade along the coast, a marina and cruises to Carloforte on a small island of San Pietro. In the vicinity there is Porto Flavia - an extraordinary engineering solution 100 years old.

Portoscuso is a small town, outside the main tourist areas.

Portoscuso is a small town, outside the main tourist areas. The choice of restaurants is small, but even at the port "bistro" the food was absolutely great (except for the poor service). We didn't see a single cafe. There are bars, but more for locals. Generally not much to walk around the towns. However, the promenade along the coast, up to the large beach of Spiaggia di Portopaglietto is great, especially in the evening when it is lit up. The very close industrial zone, chimneys and wind farms unfortunately take a lot away from the place. The approach to the town around this large complex is a bit depressing. However, fortunately without any negative effect on the quality and splendour of the sea. Boat trips to caves are stunning.

One of my favourite beach towns in Sardinia.

One of my favourite beach towns in Sardinia. There's a lovely sea front, food is amazing and people are nice. Child/family friendly, good for couples and for young travellers alike. Easy to walk around the town and perfect location for taking the ferry to Carloforte and driving to nearby attractions (such as Masua, Porto Flavia, Mines in Carbonia and Iglesias,...).

Despite the proximity of the industrial complex at Portovesme ( the chimneys are visible from afar) Portoscuso itself is a pretty low key town with a couple of nice beaches which were not at all crowded when we visited. (Mid September). It’s a place mostly frequented by Italians.

Excellent location with a beautiful seaview. Every member of the staff was extremely nice and helpful (compared to our experiences we had in other facilities on the island). The hotel itself is not newly built, for instance the bathroom is a little outdated, but the calm atmosphere, the view and the staff easily compensates it.

We travel a lot, but we have rarely experienced such a friendly, courteous and lovely host. Sara and Giuseppe organize everything so lovingly and service-oriented that you simply feel cared for and welcome. Anyone traveling to or through Portoscuso must stay at B&B L'Albero Dei Limoni.

They really take care about guests! Daniele and Gianni gave us so many helpful infos, links. Houses are spacious, clean, and it very easy to get to Portoscuso "a piedi" (on foot). We had a great time there, it was so safe.
