We came to San Vito Lo Capo first in 2019 during the exact same period (October/November). The town was much quieter and many restaurants and hotels/bnbs were already closed then. This time in 2024 it's practically a different place. Still lots of activity, many tourists and most hotels and practically all restaurants/bars are still open. Perfect temperatures, still great for swimming at the stunning beach (wind permitting).

You can't fault the people, the food, the service and the bars/restaurants, they are all superb and the people in the resort and Siciliy in general, are so warm and welcoming.
That said, and because of its popularity, it is very much a tourist town, like some of the more popular beach resort in the likes of Spain, so is more crowded than we would of liked. But it's still a nice place to visit, especially if you have a young family who like beachy holidays. Although, not many beach activities, unless you go to the port and hire a speedboat.

Great food - bread, pasta, gelato, I would get v large if I stayed here too long! V good fish in the sea for snorkelling, sea temperature around 25C so perfect end of Sept. We were there during the cous cous festival- interesting food stalls, but was v busy, a lot of loud music in the centre and on the beach at night but you could not hear it from our flat. Lovely small beaches nearby for swimming/ snorkelling. Would recommend if you want to be somewhere with good food and quiet beaches nearby- can get there by bike or car. Also good boat trips to the natural reserve and great snorkelling.

The beach is great and the town also....it is very touristy, but that is to be expected as it is a fabulous beach town. Lots of places to eat. Try La Casa di Enzo La Casa del Couscous which is close too but not in the touristy main sector. This is a fabulously authentic restaurant with wonderul atmospher, great food. Its run by two brothers and they and their staff are so hospitable.
Lots of other things to do here....its worth the drive.

The town has a beautiful beach and a lot of dining options so I liked this. Expect the beach to be very crowded so if you prefer more private beach experiences I’d suggest visiting a nearby nature reserve instead.

San Vito has become my favourite beach for an Italian summer … beautiful clean beaches, great eateries & amenities, mostly Italians holidaymakers. It didn’t feel overcrowded. It has an an open structure so even with a lot of people, it’s very comfortable living there. 👏👏👏
