ItalyLocation is spectacular. Very walkable area. No parking on premises and the garages close by are expensive €25/10 hours. You don’t need a car just getting around near the hotel area though and can walk from train station to hotel if you want. There are also a good amount of taxis nearby and the hotel was great to call one for us when needed. The staff is super friendly and the breakfast was better than the standard cornetto and caffe you find at other hotels.

If you like architecture, this is the place to see Andrea Palladio's work. Vicenza is not on the main tourist route but it is a great place as the trains to other places, such as Venice, Padua, Verona and Lake Garda are easy day trips.

The Palladian buildings were impressive as were the Montagna Madonnas we saw. Interesting Roman cryptoporticus (subterranean building) to the south of the cathedral. Recommend the osteria to the west of Palladio’s basilica with its good, reasonable food and fantastic view of the building while you are eating. We knew that we would be passing through Vicenza on a Monday when the museums would be closed, but there was enough to see to make a positive impression.

Vicenza is an historic, graceful city with beautiful buildings, friendly, sophisticated people, great food if you know where to go, a highly developed musical and artistic culture, and easy access to all the other interesting cities in the Veneto (Verona, Padua, Venice). I would recommend staying in Vicenza rather than staying in Venice if one is interesting in that tourist mecca (worth visiting but a place where it is expensive to eat and be housed well).

Vicenza is one of the most underrated cities in northern Italy. It is an immensely significant historic center, particularly due to its strong association with the architect Andrea Palladio whose work was essential to the rise of classical domestic architecture. His work influenced architect in Britain, the United States and throughout the world. It is also a city that is not a museum. Unlike Florence, Verona or Venice its historic center is not inundated with tourists and there are few souvenir shops. You feel the rhythm of Italian life there. So go to Vicenza and see its wonders!

It was easy to get to on main Milan to Venice rail route.
It was easy to get to on main Milan to Venice rail route. Small city so can walk everywhere. Totally Charming. So many beautiful interesting buildings. No Mcdonalds nor Burger King. Avoid Mondays as almost everything in the touristic sites is shut. Really good cake shops and cafes though.

Vicenza is a charming city with great people and great food!
Vicenza is a charming city with great people and great food! The town square is absolutely wonderful and I am surprised that it didn't get the recognition that it deserves as I feel it compares well with other more famous cities like Siena.
I absolutely recommend going there!

We loved the central location of the hotel. The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast had both sweet and savory options. The personnel was extremely welcoming and kind. We even received a little parting gift at the checkout :)
Vicenza is a great central base for exploring the Veneto region, and a lovely city on its own! We traveled by train and appreciated that train station is just 15 minutes walk from the hotel.

Hotel is located close to highway, so we spent only one night during our trip through north Italy. Room was clean and spacious, communication very easy, decent breakfast. Parking is free and in front of the hotel. Value for money.
