As hotel location, it offers good connectivity with Airport and Tokyo down town. But those with JR pass, this may not add to cost.
Beer O'Clock was an excellent little pin to visit with locals and try some excellent Japanese craft beer. The capsule hotel was better than expected. The small bath house area was an excellent way to start the morning.
Chiba city is about an hour east of central Tokyo. It’s the gateway to the Boso peninsula. It has everything you’d expect from a mid-sized Japanese city but you would have to have a good reason - a specific event or itinerary- to stay there. It could be prohibitively expensive (¥3000 per adult per day) to use it as a base to sightsee in Tokyo. A 1km radius from Chiba station is amazing to explore for food. It’s not really a tourist destination so you can follow the locals into their popular places to eat.
The monorail was a lot of fun and the train station and bus system were very convenient. There's a great park and Natural History Museum to visit. There are tons of restaurants near the train station so take your pick on style and price range! There are also plenty of convenience stores around, which I personally love.
I loved the breeze from the bay, the parks, being close to the rail station and the variety of foods. I ate in a different restaurant for each meal, basically following the locals. This is a perfect place to learn the rail and bus systems. The employees are more than willing to assist and great at bridging language barries. One of my favorite spots was the coy pond near the hotel. The street festivals were a lot of fun!
Chiba was rest stop for us to catch up on sleep. Good food in station. Room has small frig. Not 24-hours manned front desk. Password access. For travel in Boso Peninsula south, it might be a good first stop. Good intermediate station between Narita Terminals and Tokyo.

The generous number of soft pillows, total of 3. Soft comfortable bed. Nice location, just 2 minutes away by foot from Chibachuo train station. Limousine bus from Haneda stops at that station which was very convenient. About 5-10 minutes by foot from JR Chiba/Keisei Chiba. Quiet location. One English channel, CNN, is a plus I guess, but you'll get tired of listening about Trump all the time. In my room, there are 4 available power sockets.

Huge room; Music player; Mini kitchen; wifi modem inside the room; Big closet space with drawers; Coin laundry machine, but more expensive than the other hotels though the dryer did an excellent job of drying my clothes completely: Around 5-7 minutes by foot from Yoshikawakoen monorail station; Seems like a long walk from Chiba station so I did not even try; Gourmet City supermarket about 2 minutes by foot; Many restaurants around; Quiet location

I loved the location and the price. It was very close to Nishi Chiba station and the Chiba University where I needed to be. I also loved the old, Showa architecture of the building and room. It was nice to have a bath at the Daiyokujyo. Convenient, clean and cheap. Nishichiba Hotel Wakoso was a great find!
