Llama is a typical Japanese town. Great for a walk, but one day is plenty! Madarao ski resort scenery, location is wonderful. Madarao is a small village about 25 minutes away by bus from Iiyama. It is very accessible from Tokyo by Shinkansen. Dinner has to be booked in advance since there are not too many choices. They helped us feel very welcome and ensured we had all we needed. The room was sufficient and wonderfully warm after a day in the snow. The hot pot dinner they provide in the restaurant is exceptional and delicious too! The snow gear and boards were all in great condition and they supplied everything we needed to go snowboarding/skiing on the slopes at the hotel. The location is great a short walk to the lift station. Lifts passes can be purchased on site along with rentals etc meaning you can be on the slopes immediately. The hotel has a lovely Onsen too!
