We had a good time at the Ski Resort and the Shopping Outlets and plenty of Food Choices. We were able to hike going to Hoshino Olsen and also had a wonderful breakfast in the area. We spent a couple of nights here so my kids can do a ski lesson on one of the days. One could certainly choose to take a day trip from Tokyo for such an activity. However, we wanted to get away from the big city that is Tokyo and it was such a lovely experience. By some stroke of luck, it started snowing as well so that's a bonus for my kids. Around the train station and at the Prince hotel 'mall' there is a 7-11 and a number of restaurants that are pretty good. We did not manage to visit the falls unfortunately. Karuizawa offers an amazing small town charm with excellent food, friendly people, and accessible nature. Definitely check out the Japanese Giant Flying Squirrel tour to view Musasabi! We dropped our luggage early and they provided the luggage storage. When we checked in, the luggage was already in the room which we super grateful (given that our luggage were quite heavy). The location was about 10mins away walking from Karuizawa station which make this hotel very convenient to get to the Shinkansen station.
