Located in Chubu Sangaku National Park, accessible by Tateyamakurobe Alpine Route, Tengudairasansou（天狗平山荘） is set in Tateyama offering mountain views and has a restaurant and a shared lounge. Lovely mountain lodge in the middle of the japanese alps. Quiet, good for hiking around. Right in front of the bus stop. Comfortable room, tasty food. Very friendly staff/owners. Would stay again.
Featuring free bikes, garden, terrace and free WiFi, Guest House Piste is located in Tateyama, a 19-minute walk from Toyama Kings - Ashikuraji and 27 miles from Mikurigaike Onsen. Mitsuru was a super host! He picked us up from the station and even drove us EVERYWHERE even if we didn't expect him to. I left a small pouch in the train on the way to the Piste and he called the station for us to look for it. Thank goodness it was at the next station. We were so surprised at the size of the guesthouse. You can fit about 10 people there if you wanted to and there was only two of us. Everything you need is in the house. Towels, seasonings, utensils, etc. This is probably the most complete place Ive stayed at. Just remember to BUY FOOD TO COOK BEFOREHAND. There are no restaurants in the area but Mitsuru drove us to a grocery store 20 minutes away. When he brought us, we bought food that would last us our whole stay. I definitely recommend staying here! Beautiful view from the house, comfortable and clean accommodation, quiet even if on the main street, and the best host Mitsuru!!
Offering free WiFi, Hotel Spiral is located in Toyama, 3.7 mi from Toyama-kō and 6.8 mi from Toyama Family Park. All rooms boast a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom. This place was the cleanest most luxurious and most reasonable accommodation we stayed in on our trip thru Japan. The staff was super friendly. Everything worked and it was a most enjoyable experience. Because of these guys we will endeavour to stay where possible in Love Hotels. We stayed in three different rooms and all were superb.
Tateyama is one of my favorite places in Japan, and this was my fourth trip to the area. While many come to see the ice wall, I particularly like Mikurigaike Pond on top of the mountain, for its pristine blue! It is also a great place to visit during the summer, where one can hike around the region, enjoying its magnificent views!
